     “This war will not end any time soon.”

     Anduin stood at the edge of the war table, a hand placed on the map of a soon-to-be battleground. One he regrettably would be leading the coming week. When he met Arden’s eyes, they were filled with sorrow.

     “You... do not need to stay for it,” Anduin said. “There are those who have chosen to stay home and rest rather than partake in another battle. That option extends to you, Arden. You do not need to see more bloodshed than you have to. Not... Not after everything.”

     seldom could, in anduin's case, a moment so TENDER in nature be exchanged between two nearly identical souls. the gentle snowfall outside combined with the warmth that the palace provided made for a pleasant holiday evening. after taking a delicate sip of the SCALDING cocoa held in two gloved hands, the priest noted, “this keep’s interior scarcely feels more INVITING than the outside world... but i suppose now is an exception of sorts.”

"Where are you from?"

“Far from here, Lightborn,” Jesse says, fiddling with his rusted prosthetic. “Grew up in a rundown home. Somethin’ like Westfall. Upgraded as I got older of course and ran with the more advanced commanders.”

A spark flew from his metallic pinky finger, and it stopped bending completely. Jesse frowned. “This place actually ain’t too bad once you get over the magic and lack of tech. If anythin’, it’s a little humbling. It’s... a little lonely though.”

“You shouldn’t overexert yourself, Arden.”

His voice was calm, but it held command. He stood over the war table, one hand on his father’s compass, the other, resting near the figurines that represented soldiers. “The Legion is no ordinary foe. After the Shore, Arden... I don’t want you rushing into a battle that might not bring you as great of luck as the last time.”

     If there was anything he was grateful for, it was how far his feet could take him. Now, if he only had the patience and mindfulness to pay attention to where said feet would take him, perhaps such traveling wouldn’t be such trouble.

     Such lack of attention, and perhaps much needed sobriety, lands the Nightborne nearly crashing into another man.

     “Oh goodness pardon me!” Veros shouts, gracelessly stumbling backwards. “My, you’re a stocky one -- Oh, friendly I hope. Care for some bread? I’m selling bread and necklaces. Don’t ask why, I don’t know why either.”

     it came as no surprise to the fallen king that his former companion had made it past the frontlines, the likes of which were riddled with fanatics and eldritch MONSTROSITIES alike. their reunion - as he had anticipated it to be - seethed and writhed with an unbearable tension; a deafening silence which lingered throughout the darkened palace. without facing the paladin, anduin shattered it with a single ultimatum, “i offer you but one chance, arden. join me, and see firsthand the shadow's INEVITABILITY - or resist... and watch as the light fails you, as it failed me...” there could be no victory for that which had, like so many others, turned on him when he held in his hands the reins of a god. pursing dulled lips, the priest manifested into an open palm a caliginous flame, and after gazing unto its dark and MALEVOLENT potency, anduin turned to glance over his shoulder, awaiting his desired response.

Yep! Jesse can play guitar fairly well, and has some basic knowledge on how to play a violin as well. He knows how to play a few decent tunes by heart, and even though he’s rusty on both instruments, his singing can make up for it.
