@empathos ‘ so, uh, are you guys dating now? ’ hi it's jealous isaac for you guessed it, alison !
X. ACCEPTING
░░░░░░ ☾ she doesn’t like boys in her room. maybe she doesn’t like the fact that a little bit of her is exposed, with the pink walls and the curtains over her bed, the makeup on the vanity and the posters on the wall. her bedroom is still a performance, but one that’s closest to the truth. or maybe it’s just that she doesn’t like the fact that if her parents saw they would totally freak.
“so, uh, are you guys dating now?” he goes, and there it is, the acknowledgement she wanted. it’s nice for him to pretend he doesn’t know the story all the way down to the gory details, but then it hits her mid-thought, that perhaps he doesn’t know it at all. ( perhaps he doesn’t know her at all, but whose fault is that ? )
she doesn’t give him the reaction she should, defensive or dramatic, the two things she can always fall back on. instead, alison leans back against the pillows. “why,” she goes, smiling slyly at the ceiling, “do you think i should?” she shifts slightly, emboldened by the fact that he’s jealous, he’s jealous, he’s jealous ! “or maybe i’ll just send him to the back of the line.”
