HIDEO WAS WELL-AWARE that she had an immense sweet tooth. In every occasion that involved food, anything sweet was a must-have for her. If she could, she would probably eat sweets her whole life. He wasn’t particularly fond of it, but because of her influence, it started to grow on him.
“You have to save some space on your stomach. If it becomes too full, you might miss trying the other selections,” he said, chuckling. Not that it was much of a problem for her; she had a humongous appetite for confectioneries.
Their arms linked. A platonic gesture. He gave importance to whatever it was that they had. He let her lead the way. Amidst their walk, a melodic tune could be heard, reverberating through the halls. The orchestra started to play in harmony. “Ah, look at them, they’re dancing.” His gaze went to the pairs swinging to the music in the dance floor. His lips curled into a smile, pleased by the sight and sound.
“Care to dance with me?” he asked rhetorically.
Such a rhetoric question could only be met by an exasperated sigh and a roll of her carmine eyes. But, despite her ARDUOUS desire to dance, she decided to take part in his little game and play along. She halted in her tracks, her strong grip on him halting him as well as she swung in front of him on her heels and positioned her hands accordingly on his shoulder and in his hand, respectively.
“I’d HATE that.” Venomous sarcasm dripped from her smirk as she alluringly batted her lashes at him. “Lead the way, if you don’t want to end up pirouetting towards the sweets table.”
