Random Mikell Ambrose/Alison Chao thoughts bcuz ough they live rent free in my head
Their first encounter (wink wonk) was both a complete accident and a calculated attempt by Alison to get Foundation secrets. Girly is just snooping around personnel offices and stumbles into O5-6, drunk out of his mind- likely to try to forget how awful his job is. She tries to interrogate him for Foundation secrets, kinda fails, joins Mikell in drowning out their sorrows with alcohol. Then boom! A few minutes later, they’re making out over a desk in some random SCP Foundation office.
They’re total freaks about each other 🫶. In every sense of the word. Just entirely not normal about their situationship. Mikell is an emotionally constipated horn-dog who doesn’t like getting attached because he’s hurt too many people. Alison is an equally emotionally constipated stuck-up nerd who doesn’t like getting attached bcuz she’s been hurt too many times before.

I think they start opening up to each other after a while of being enemies-with-benefits. Given their jobs, Mikell and Alison probably already know a fair share about the others past, but they’d find comfort in knowing they had similar childhoods- having take on a parental/care-giver role super early in life since their parents were too busy working at the Foundation.

For majority of their “relationship”, they don’t call the other by their real name, because professionalism and not-wanting-to-get-attached and whatnot.
However, Mikell- and his charming lil southern accent- calls Alison every pet name in the books 🫶. “Darlin” is his most common one. He also uses “princess” as a jab at her title of QUEEN and “snake” for when he’s pissed at her- which is most of the time.

Alison is very much NOT a fan of pet names like Mikell is. She usually sticks to calling him “six” or “cowboy”. Along with an occasional “bastard” or “Jailor lapdog” when she feels extra mean.
