A southern lad! (I mean obviously duh)
Age-wise, like with the other Shaw family members, I don't really have any idea. But he's an O5 and Jack's older brother, so man's old as hell, just doesn't really look like it. I think its canon he uses the fountain of youth anomaly to stay young. So I'd say physically he's like in his 30s-40s ish.
TBH I can't imagine this man as anything other than a hetero, cis man. I think he'd be bisexual at most, but probably like, semi-unaware of it. So pick which ever of the two you like.
He inherited the family ranch when his dad was assassinated, so if you two ever came to the point of being in serious enough of a relationship to move in together you'd definitely luck out.
I feel like he'd be very different towards someone he's genuinely in love with vs someone that he's only sexually attracted to, if that makes sense? He's a lot less suave and flirty and more easily flustered and genuine because he takes the relationship more seriously.
Back in his "wild days" he used to sleep around A LOT. And he has a lot of illegitimate children, so you have to be fine with that.
He's like that one meme. He's a slut but he ain't a playa. He'd be pretty honest and open about it. He also really isn't the type to cheat. Its either something casual, or he's completely committed and won't make any compromises about that.
In general, you really don't have to try and befriend anyone in his family to be on good or romantic terms with him. As long as you don't say anything bad about the three youngest ones, I feel like with Jack he doesn't really care. His relationship with his son, David, is pretty complicated, and he'd probably just want to keep you away from him. For several reasons.
His love languages are acts of service and quality time. Keep in mind HIS love language as in that is how he shows his love. If you prefer showing it to him in another way or having him occasionally show it in another way, he'd probably be perfectly fine with hat and do his best to adapt. He's so happy to just spend time with you or do stuff for you, though.
He also really likes touch and just generally being close to you. Even if its just in a passive way like sitting together watching TV or sharing a bed. Doesn't have to be any active touch, just like I said, being close.
Considering he's an O5 and the oldest child of so many siblings, he's definitely used to doing stuff himself without complaining about it. Soo, he will absolutely melt if you do stuff for him. No matter how small a thing it is. Matter of fact, if you go out of your way to do super small things for him on a regular basis, like making him some coffee, getting him a new pen when you see his is broken, even just bothering to get some Tylenol for a headache he vaguely mentioned? He's so happy to see it every single time. He just loves to see you care the way he does, its something he ain't used to!
Also, despite his normal huge workload, you aren't a burden or anything when he does stuff for you, not at all! He kinda needs it to feel more accomplished when it comes to your relationship.
I mentioned this before, but when you two are in a relationship, you are, and he is a bit of a romantic when you are! He doesn't seem like the type for it but he definitely remembers your two's anniversary. You have a day that's special to you? He has it pencilled in his schedule right away. He also buys flowers and/or chocolate every single valentine's. Sometimes you think he's forgotten because he's so busy. But then he gives it to you last minute, and after that just wants to spend time with you.
He picks you up in his arms. Not often and not in public or anything, but he loves to do it when you two are alone. Usually bridal-style, too. Says the cheesiest things when he has you like that, and absolutely does not want to put you down. Also, its almost ridiculous how easily he can hold you like that for what feels like forever.
Uses a lot of nicknames! Ones like darlin'/darling, sweetheart, sugar, love or luv are his favourite. Also loves calling you that in public unless you specifically ask him not to do that. Like with basically everything else, he will love it if you use one for him. Even if its something silly or ridiculous, he'll barely protest.
Did I mention he has gorgeous hair? Like in every single story or fanart I see of him he does so its just canon now. Don't ask me what his routine is, I'd also like to know. But what I do know is if you play with his hair he'll absolutely melt. If he can put his head in your lap and you just scratch it or play with or braid his hair he'll be so damn quiet in stunned silence. His face is basically one overripe tomato with luscious locks. Won't even complain if you tug a little (Idk maybe he'd even like it) (He'd probably like it). Also if you do his hair in a braid or put one strand in a braid, he'll leave it in. All day, or even multiple days until the next time he washes his hair.

Now that I mention tugging his hair, with what I've headcanon-ed so far he might have a bit of a kink for that. If you just pull on or tug his hair a little, especially during sex, he'd definitely melt. And im general its just a turn-on for him.
I haven't quite settled on whether I headcanon him as a jealous lover or not, but I definitely think he'd like to leave hickeys. Wouldn't necessarily mind you covering them up, as long as he knows theire there.
Low-key has a praise-kink. Or dirty talk. He'd enjoy either one I think. Though he does really like hearing he did a good job. About doing anything really, but especially on doing you-
Consent matters to him a lot. If you're even slightly uncomfortable, he'll stop and make sure you're comfortable and want it as much as he does. Never gets upset or anything when you don't, would be more upset if you didn't tell him.

My Bright/Shaw Family Rewrite-AU-Thing?
I'm so fucking tired. I really enjoy writing this stuff but I haven't been able to get done as much as I wanted so its only being posted now.

Adam Shaw;
Y'know, the dad. Tried to get Sarah and TJ out of containment and even became an O5 to do this but was eventually assassinated for it. In my headcanon this constant attempting to get the two free ended up taking its toll on their older siblings (Mikell, Jack and Claire) who all have different ways of coping/responding to this especially after his death/assassination.
Evelyn Shaw;
Really don't know much about her. I read Code Brown on the wiki while it was up so I know like vaguely how she behaves and a bit about her relationship with her children, and she definitely is well-meaning but I don't know much about her influence on them yet. Oh yeah and she either is or was an O5 like her husband, I'm not sure if she still is or if she quit after Adam's assassination.
And then they have 5 kids, starting with the oldest and going down to the youngest:
Mikell Shaw;
I read the story where its explained Mikell is responsible for his son's missing eyes because he had the same ability to see the future as Claire. In my rewrite that's because he saw what happened to TJ and Sarah due to their anomalies and he was worried about something like that happening to his son. Because let's be honest that's a pretty reasonable fear. Maybe not the most reasonable solution but eh. I also just think it would be logical, stuff like that definitely affects the way you'd treat your own kid/s in the future.
I also like to imagine that the reason he doesn't have any contact or even knows about all of his illegitimate children is because he doesnt want to know what happens/happened to them. Cause yk if his son has an ability then probably most if not all of his kids do. Basically the thought process is that if he doesn't know about any of the (whether bad or good) stuff that might have happened/be happening to his children, he can't feel bad about it.
Jack Shaw;
The whole thing with him getting custody of TJ is still the same in my headcanon but he isn't responsible for causing his reduced mental capability. And the fact that Jack and Mikell have such very different ways of coping with...well, everything regarding their family and the foundation and stuff is a major source of conflict between them. (Since they seemed to low-key hate each other in Code Brown.)
Thomas Jack (TJ) Shaw
My personal explanation for his whole ordeal is that back when the foundation started out and until around to the point of Adam's death, the foundation was a much more unorganized and therefore less regulated place. Therefore more cruel and less rational/humane in their treatment of anomalies. The result of this was the abuse that happened to him. Also, in my headcanon-rewrite thing it wasn't Jack or the foundation who reduced his mental/emotional (?) capability, its just something that happened either due to a trauma response (cause yk that is alike to an actual thing) or just as an accidental result of him healing someone that had such a thing. Age-wise, in my rewrite TJ is stuck in the body of a 16 year old, and his mental ability was reduced to that of a 10-13 year old in my rewrite.
Also, this reducing of his capability in my rewrite happens around the time Adam is assassinated, and Adam's death starts to push the foundation into getting more regulations, bettering in general to prevent something as major as assassination between council members from happening ever again. And therefore also gets more humane/logical/reasonable in their treatment of anomalies.
Claire Lumineux
I really don't know much about her. I think she was the one who's now the assassin for the O5 council? Other than that I really don't know. I'll read about her and do her part when I have time/motivation for it. Also I think she has a daughter and granddaughter but I don't know shi about them.
Sarah Shaw
I read her OG file, and tbh I just don't really want to write anything about her or rewrite anything because 1, aside from some sweet sweet trauma for her siblings (and parents ofc) it doesn't majorly seem to affect any plotline or have any great effect in the larger picture. Like from a writing standpoint.
I know stillbirth and the like are extremely traumatizing to the whole family not only the mother, because I've experienced alike which is why I don't want to write about her. Due to this, I headcanon her as having peacefully died likely asleep or at least unconscious from heart failure due to it being unable to support her growing body. Sad but the best way I think.
And then the offspring of the Shaw/Bright siblings that are important/you need to know about:
David Blindman (I genuinely have no idea if Blindman is just the last name the fandom gave him or if that's dead ass his wiki-accurate last name.); Mikell's son. He takes care of all of his father's illegitimate offspring/half-siblings. Tbh I kinda like his character there's just not that much to say about him in a family context.
Yorick Elroy, Jack's grandkid. Genuinely don't know much about him, beside that he's Jack's grandson. I can't remember if he used he/him or they/them pronouns in the original writing.
Serra Argent;
In my headcanons she is either Mikell's estranged daughter or Jack's daughter. If I end up making her Jack's daughter she would also be Yorick's mom. Dont know much about her.

Been wanting to make it actually but I'm a little hesitant to write about the members aside from TJ, Mikell and Jack because I haven't read the lore/OG stories from the wiki. I know they prolly shouldn't be the same because of the problematic/shitty writing in some of them and obviously cause its made by The Duck Man but Id still Like to First understand what their base concept was and what direction their character kinda had originally and that stuff. I'm just nerdy like that but I'll start soon I promise.

Short analysis and concept for my Mikell Bright rewrite.
I don't really take my writing that seriously, I'll be honest. Everything I make is truly a "wouldn't that be fucked up" scenario that I make up that's heavily influenced by media I've consumed in the past.
But damn... Mikell Bright was wasted potential. I've said it before so I won't get into too much detail.
My proposal for a Mikell Bright rewrite would be to focus on the American and Military aspects of him. Since the beginning of the modern era, the cowboy has been a symbol of "american" (even though the tradition's roots are in latin america and indigenous groups) culture.
Pairing this with the militarism of the MTF division I always immediately thought of American military idealism. Carrying the big stick, America believes itself to be the ultimate form of judgement and the "police" of North America. To people who don't know much about American ideals, this may sound good with the power the country holds, but almost always the unfiltered cruelty of people wanting more and more power corrupts it's authority.
"I am the good western man and you're the uncivilized corrupt outsider" is an apt description of America's true beliefs surrounding foreign policy. People are expected to act the American way, if not you can't reach the American dream.
Acting the American way is to be a hard worker.
I think this would be a concept that would be fascinating to show in the O5 LITERALLY called "The American".
Picture this, O5-6 is the face of the MTF department, what lures people in to endless devotion and expansion in the foundation's control of the anomalous and normal world. What would you do, seeing that man on a poster with his all too perfect smile, saying that you can fulfill yourself the way he has if you sacrifice yourself entirely to the foundation? Reach the American dream? Don't you want it? The foundation's most prolific and established agent is telling YOU that you can be like his perfectly manufactured self. wouldn't that be fucked up. wouldn't that be so american
