"This photo - I'm not even really sure why I took it. My sweet girl, having just turned 5, was essentially just barely clinging on to her life. Moments later she would be whisked into the ER at the Children's Hospital and the wonderful team there would work their magic to make certain she came home with us the next day. A single sliver of a peanut almost took her from us. Food allergies. Anaphylaxis. Nightmares. When you hear that your child may not be allowed to have peanuts or peanut butter in a classroom or notice that some children may sit separate from the class at lunch, think of my Addyson. When it was all over and she was stabilized, the doctor told me that 10 more minutes may have resulted in a different outcome. This one - she is my heart. Please, be mindful of her and those like her who walk through life with extraordinary caution, unable to just grab a snack, uncomfortable going to parties, uncertain where exactly their kryptonite is hiding. A tiny little sliver of a peanut almost took her from us. Food allergies. Anaphylaxis. Nightmares. Faith. Hope. Compassion. Understanding. Thanks for helping raise awareness for all of us! J.B. Daley"
