anyway, i have watched the bear! it's a good fucking show, and so dense, right? i feel like i barely skimmed the surface of it with a single viewing, it really invites closer watching. particularly for the way it excels at giving the viewer information in obscurity. the characters practically never say exactly what they want/need to and the visuals rely on subtly and it's precisely the kind of art i strive to create myself. gut feelings and realistically human dialogue and places that feel lived-in without the audience being spoon-fed any of it.
which, now that i'm writing about it, i'm realizing the style really complements the content. the bear is like a finely constructed meal. you don't taste individual ingredients, you're simply left with a feeling of satisfaction and a distinct taste in your mouth by the time you finish. delicious.
