Maybe you can answer this. What is up with fedoras being associated with MRAs? I keep seeing that used as a defining feature of them yet I have no clue where it came from. Is it just a stereotype and if so what's it based on?
we have answered this a few times but its basically that it emerged among groups of predominately white dudes as an attempt to look back to "the good old days", and the fedora was some symbol of "class" and there was a whole thing of "class vs. swag." At some point people on reddit started talking about their fedoras as well as being sexist douchecanoes and the fedora slowly became the symbol of the "nice guy" the guy who is "nice" to a girl to get sex.
It became really big after Fedoras of OKC which was a blog on here that showcased all these profiles of dudes in fedoras from OKC where they spouted the most horrid racist, misogynistic and homophobic things. So yeah that's the history.
now if you see a Nice Guy TM you call him a Fedora
