i get this across so many fandoms. a character will be called something ONCE in an early season and its in every fic every other line. drives me nuts ~ 

me too!! especially when (in fics) people use that nickname even though they never used it on the show and it seems so ooc for them to use it at all OR when harvey is suddenly all ‘i would do anything for you, puppy’. every time i read something like that my brain tries to pack it’s bags and leave like yes he sure would do a lot of things for MIKE but why add the puppy i’m so

It is annoying because the number of times the word puppy is mentioned in relation to Mike is directly proportional to hinting at his lack of capability to handle himself or to babying him. Use it as a nickname once in a while but jfc he is a human being and should be acknowledged as such.

god i know, i noticed that too. it’s the actual worst and sometimes it’s so degrading and belittling like .. please let this puppy trope go .. it’s dead .. let it rest please .. and you are right about the human being thing, in some fics they use it so much that i actually get worried that people believe he is a puppy i’m like ???
