(1)Heya! I don’t know if I told you this story before, but for the creepy asks: when I was 3-4 years old, with no clue about privacy, I went to the toilet with the door wide open. It was just me and my mom at home. As I was doing my business I saw a dark mass in the form of a person walk out of my bedroom which was next to the bathroom. It stopped, turned to face me, and began walking to me. I screamed and my mom came running. I looked behind her and it was gone. Funny thing: it didn’t feel evil
But because I was a kid, I didn’t know what else to do besides scream when something that looked like a person but wasn’t walking towards me. Few years later, one of my sisters was asleep in our room while me, mom, and other sister were in the living room. She walked out and demanded who was slapping her butt while she was sleeping, and we told her we weren’t in the room with her. The same sister woke up in the middle of the night to someone screaming at her to wake up and it sounded demonic.
A few months after that, I woke up in the middle of the night and felt someone staring at me. One of my older sisters was at her night shift at work, and the other one was sleeping. I looked to the doorway and saw the same mass standing there. I swear to all gods that i saw glowing red eyes but I didn’t feel fear. Just a sense of calm, and I knocked right back out. I don’t know what it was. Usually dark mass with glowing red eyes means danger, right??
oh, it absolutely almost always means danger, at least in experience. it could be that because you were a child, you were somehow shielded from the full magnitude of what you were seeing. when we’re kids, everything is new and kind of scary, and we don’t have the same ideas or assumptions about the world as adults do. we’re much more liable to simply accept things as kids, because we haven’t yet been taught what to expect from the world. in a world where your mother can hand you a plastic device and say “it’s your dad” and you hold the plastic device to your ear and your dad’s voice comes out of it, what’s a shadow figure with glowing red eyes? maybe that’s normal, too!
if it was evil, though, there’s a chance it could have been preparing itself to fuck with you more than your sisters. it sounds like you’re the youngest or at least near the youngest, and younger children are more vulnerable to such things. maybe it was trying to make you less scared of it, so you would trust it more? I have no idea, but such things can tend to manipulate emotions and perceptions. your sisters, being older, would have likely had scarier experiences because a) they know more about the world and what’s normal, and b) the entity might have been trying to scare them off.
of course, it could be a rare occasion where the entity was benevolent but just chose an unfortunate aesthetic? it’s been known to happen -- something I thought was malicious for several years actually turned out to be benevolent and even actively protective towards the end, and it was one of the most obvious “this is evil” entities you could get: a large black dog with glowing red eyes. turned out it had actually been warning me and giving me a heads-up for things all along! so you really never know.
