5 jaar voordat Le Corbusier het Plan Voisin (1925) presenteerde, had de Italiaanse Piero Portaluppi het Plan Allabanuel (1920) gemaakt. Een jaar na Voisin kwam Portaluppi met Hellytown (1926). Le Corbusier was in die tijd niet de enige met megalomane bouwplannen.
