This is our old lady, Crackie. She wormed her way into my husband’s heart at the @burinpeninsulaspca fourteen years ago this week. Despite the fact that she suckered him into taking her home, she is 100% my dog. . She was mostly black when we got her. A snarly heeler who wants to keep all her people in one place. 14 years have dulled that need (and her sight, and hearing) and some recent worrying episodes have reminded us that she won’t be with us always. . In 23 years of marriage 7 dogs have spent time in our lives. I find it hard to imagine that one day I will wake up to a home without a four-footed family member. .
