“Oh, what a sweetheart.” Hera happily accepted Allegra’s hug, the warmth of Apollo’s daughter always filled her heart with joy. After a few moments the two pulled away and Hera left her hands on the demigoddess’ forearms while giving her a warm smile. “I have your gown ready by the way. Come by the boutique anytime so we can make sure it fits.” The queen already knew it would fit perfectly, she was good at what she did. “It was lovely visiting with you. Anytime you need a gown for a performance you know where to find me, darling.” With a playful wink Hera leaned forward and placed a kind kiss on Allegra’s cheek before patting her hand and turning to leave.

“Miss, are you okay?” Blair asked, her brows furrowed in concern. She had just clocked off from work and was heading to her motorbike when she found a young demigoddess sitting on the side walk. It was four in the morning so not exactly a good time to be loitering around. “Hey...” Blair put a hand to her shoulder and realized that she was nearly passed out. Oh shit. “Hey come on, let’s get you over there instead,” she said, putting one of the stranger’s arms over her shoulder and lifting her up.

Diana had always been emotional, but she had never really been one to cry in front of other people- not until recently, apparently. Maybe it was just old feelings compounding with new feelings and making her an anxious mess on legs, but it seemed like she had been caught crying or otherwise going through some kind of breakdown a lot lately. And maybe it had not even been a lot, maybe it just felt like a lot.

This time, however, it was just silly. She was reading a rather heartbreaking book for the course she TA’ed while sitting in The Flower Mill, sipping her morning coffee. She had not even realized her eyes were watering, so engrossed in the book, until a tear splattered on the page she was reading. She blinked, wiping the moisture from the page, and looked up when someone spoke.

“Oh, I’m fine, I...” She began, looking up just as the other woman reached out to wipe another tear from her cheek. She flushed, giggling nervously and holding up the book. “It’s really sad. I know, I’m a real softy.”

Allegra was someone who by far hadn’t been on the island as long as Yiyang had, but long enough for the girl to know the older her general routine and personality very well. The one thing she hadn’t figured out though was why Allegra had decided to dote on her. Perhaps it was the lack of her mother here she thought. Having deducted from how she carried herself quite a bit about Allegra. Or perhaps she loved her mother so much that she wanted to be a mother herself. Either way, it wasn’t something that she felt compelled to investigate further. What compelled her more in this moment, was how to get her arms from stopping to hug her! She was a detective and detective Hong was not a warm-hearted one! She solved all the cold cases with careful inspection and the overturning of old and new evidence.

“Would you, please, let go of me, ma’am?” She said in a rather distant tone as if she’d always been allergic to hugs, when Allegra would know best that this was not the case. Depending on the day, she might hug onto the other demigoddess all day. “I’m in the middle of an important investigation inquiry, now will you please tell me if you’ve seen these before?” She said again, holding up a see through plastic ziplock bag with in it a pair of seemingly bloodied pearl beaded earrings.

The train system in this country had been quite foreign to Anubis for some time. He had gotten used to never moving from his own spot in the vast desert of the underworld but now that he had to go to places, and he could not teleport, he had to take public transport. The day seemed to have been a little sparse with commuters, he noted as he stood on the platform waiting for the train, but that was a plus for him. The only one of note that was waiting with him was a pretty young girl who was swaying to the music only she could hear from her earbuds.   She seemed to lose her footing though just as he heard the sound of train whistles and without any hesitation he reached out and grabbed her hand to pull her back into his side right when the train pulled into the station.  “Careful, little one.” He rumbled in a deep voice as he towered over the girl.
