He was going to die.
There was no question about it. Life as he knew it was over for him. Allen was going to have to have Hajun and Anne inform his parents about their disowned son’s untimely demise.
“Allen? Are you okay?”
No, he wasn’t okay! His crush just saw his private notebook full of all the love songs he wrote about them! He was as good as dead!
You touched his shoulder, causing him to flinch. “Allen? Is there anything I can do?”
There was nothing you could do. If there was anything he wanted you to do, it would be to just leave him alone to die as he wallowed in self pity. All he wanted to do was crawl into a hole and die already! Was that seriously too much to ask?
“If it’s any consolation,” It probably wasn’t. “They’re really good.”
He froze. You thought they were good? Really? You weren’t teasing him by saying his songs were good and then laughing in his face as you take it back, right?
You smiled. “You have such a wonderful way with words, you know? I can barely rhyme. Honestly, I’m kind of jealous of your talent.”
“You’re jealous of me?” He didn’t mean to say that out loud.
Laughing, you nodded. “Yeah. All of your music is so beautifully written and your words really speak to the soul. I always love listening to your music.”
“Really?” He could tell he was blushing super hard right now. But he just couldn’t believe you had such strong feelings about his music. Was some divine being finally taking pity on him? Either way, he couldn’t complain. This was an absolutely surreal feeling. What should he say? What does a person say when their crush loves a composer’s love songs written for them in a notebook they never should’ve seen?
“Yeah. Seriously Allen, you have such a gift.” You nodded, your eyes sparkling as you praised him. “If you ask me, you should chase after your dreams with all your might. I’m sure you’ll go farther than you anticipate.”
“T-thanks.” He mumbled. However, before you could take off, he called out. “W-wait!”
Turning to face him, you gave him a heavenly smile that made him rethink stopping you. “Yes?”
“Oh, I, uh, um, was wondering if you, ah, were interested, you could come over and, uh, listen to more of my music.” That sounded so stupid. He was so stupid! He couldn’t just ask you to come over! He was such an idiot! Wasn’t someone or something supposed to smite him down by now?
Your smile widened. “I’d love to! Here-” brandishing a pen, you wrote your number on his wrist. “Call me and I’ll be over.”
Allen let you walk away this time, his jaw completely on the floor. He couldn’t believe it. One minute, he was practically dying because you saw all of his love songs, the next he scored a date with you. Was this some kind of crazy, impossible dream? If so, he never wanted to wake up.
He glanced down at his wrist with your number printed so nicely.
[1:12 pm] You felt a splash of water hit your body from above, and as you knew it wasn’t raining and that neither Minhee nor Jungmoo had the audacity to interrupt you while you were reading, you knew that it was thanks to your boyfriend that your book was now covered in small drops. When you looked up, you saw Allen hovering over you, a grin on his lips and his hair soaking wet.
“Get in the pool with me?” he asked, clasping his hands together in front of him as if he was begging you. You quickly shook your head. “You’ve been reading all day! You should at least cool off a bit.”
“Cool off could’ve been an option,” you started, looking back at your book. “but I can tell that from the water you threw on me that it’s not just cool, it’s ice cold. So no, thank you.”
Allen shook his head in disappointment, and was about to leave you alone to go join his friends in the pool when he had an idea. He wiped his hands off on the towel you were lying on, and then grabbed your book from your hands. Ignoring the “hey!” escaping from your lips, he placed the book on the table next to you before strutting over to your side. And before you could even react, his arms had sneaked in under your legs and back, pulling you up so you were in his embrace. You gasped as he walked over to the pool, realizing what he was thinking.
“Put me down right this second!” you yelled, kicking your legs in the air even though you knew it would do nothing to help you. He only shook his head before telling Minhee to watch out. And then he jumped in, with you in his arms.
You were lucky you were already wearing your swimsuit - or, rather, he was lucky - so it wasn’t too bad. Except for the fact that the pool was freezing cold compared to the warm air you’d just been in. Right as you resurfaced you puffed, instantly clinging onto Allen’s body in hope of regaining some warmth. Though, when you heard him chuckle, you pulled away to show him the pout your mouth had formed into and your furrowed eyebrows. His smile disappeared in a millisecond.
“Are you mad at me?”
You couldn’t help but to smile at the change in his attitude, shaking your head. “No. I love you, dumbass,” you hummed, sticking your tongue out at him.
“Call me dumbass one more time and I won’t hesitate to push you underwater again!”
When Allen came to the dorm, he heard sobbing that sounded like his girlfriend. He took off his shoes, and he tiptoed to the living room. It was his girlfriend. She was crying on Jungmo's shoulder.
"I... got... a few... really... awful... comments... after... Allen... told everybody... that... we're... dating," her every sob hurt him more and more. Jungmo patted her calmly on the back, noticing Allen standing in the door.
"You should talk about it with him. He just came, Y/N," Jungmo said, pulling her away from him. He stood up, and Allen took his place.
"Angel, why didn't you tell me? Will you show me the comments? I'll report all of them," Allen looked at her sadly, wiping her tears with his thumbs.
"I don't know. I was afraid to show you because they are from your fans. Plus, I was thinking about deleting everything or making them private," she said, handing her phone with all of the comments to Allen.
"Do what you think, angel. I'll try to talk to the managers about it if there's anything they can do about it, okay? If that happens again, tell me right away, okay?" he stroked her cheek carefully, smiling at her.
