Moon Camp by Allen Laseter
Once again the talented Allen Laseter has done a great piece of work for TED ed.
In this lesson, he takes us through the journey of what would it be like if we would colonise the moon. Allen’s classic aesthetic, combined with an intentional retro effect and with his awesome animation style makes an incredible combo! We always love Allen’s choices for transitions and visual narrative interpretations. Every shot is beautifully joined with the next flowing in a way that you barely notice the cuts.
Despite the uncertain conditions, the moon as pictured by Allen doesn’t look so bad after all!

‘Teen Mental Health - Transitions' by Wonderlust
Wonderlust created this lovely film for Transitions- a teen health resource to help ease the scary jump into university or collage.
They’ve worked alongside the talented Allen Laseter, taking on the design and animation, to create a very charming and colourful short explanatory film that highlights how Transitions can help students. We love the interesting use of framing, and of course, the fantastic animation!

Will winning the lottery make you happy? (TED-Ed) by Allen Laseter
Loving the last animation by Allen Laseter for TED-ED.
The film questions if winning the lottery would truly make you happier, and leaves us with the interesting thought: “what would you do if you won the lottery?”
We’d love having the chance to try it out! We would probably travel the world, and commission lots of films for ourselves, we would probably become some sort of Norma Desmon, like in the film “Sunset Boulevard” by Billy Wilder. Or if we were not in a diva mood but felt more like a philanthropist, we could be like Robin Hood and give it to the poor :P
This film was commissioned by TED-Ed, they wanted a video to accompany their lesson about hedonic adaptation and how it relates to people who have won the lottery. You can view the full lesson here: ed.ted.com/lessons/would-winning-the-lottery-make-you-happier-raj-raghunathan
We love the great use of 3D, how it perfectly blends with the brilliant 2D animation and the very endearing designs and color palette, not forgetting to mention the perfectly tailored sound design.
Enjoy it!
