One of the things I live about Halloween is putting costumes together and repurposing things. Samhain is a Pagan religious festival originating from the ancient Celts. Samhain is pronounced “Sow-iin” and is celebrated October 31 to November 1 to welcome in the harvest. It also celebrates the the veil that separates our world and the spirit world thinning, allowing humans to communicate and experience the spirits of those who’ve passed on. We celebrate with our ancestors by lighting candles near their pictures and their personal belongings. We also light incense and place offerings.
