I passed my @americankennelclub Canine Good Citizen exam!
This has been a long journey starting all the way back to when my human first brought me home.
If you don’t know my story, when I was rescued, in December 2019, I had kennel cough, fleas, and two different parasites.
My human didn’t have a dog before me so she quickly downloaded the @zoomroom Puppy Training in 7 Easy Steps book on her phone and put us both to work.
Once I recovered from kennel cough, I started Puppy Plus classes at @zoomroomcc on February 9, 2020.
From there I graduated Obedience 1 on my first try and then made a lifetime career (13 months) out of Obedience 2.
In my defense, it was a pandemic and my school had to temporarily close its doors a few times.
The most exciting part of graduating Obedience 3 and becoming a CGC is that now I can apply to be a Therapy Dog!
We have identified a program that we’d like to volunteer with (Paws and Pals at @thehelpgroup) and have reached out to an @alliancetherapydogs evaluator to see if I’m ready.
We are so excited to begin this next chapter and keep working towards our goal of becoming an Animal Assisted Counseling team one day.
What’s an accomplishment that you’re really proud of? ⤵️
