I don't know who you are... but I heard that one of the groups you left was SAN, which I'm apart of. I'm really sorry you felt the need to leave. I saw the post after it had gotten out of control and only saw a few comments so I know it looked bad. I should have stepped up but I was having a bad day of my own. It's not much of an excuse, really... And last I could tell, there is another post stewing up trouble. That's not how SAN usually is and know that I'm just as disappointed and disheartened

Yes, SAN was one of the two groups referenced.
I like some of the people in SAN, but what happened was NOT okay and being told to “just cool off” with zero acknowledgement that there was a behavioral problem really bothers me.
I reached out to Hank mostly on a whim, I didn’t expect any answer, and while I’m slightly disappointed that he just pointed at the old video (It’s a good video, but it’s… not really what I was asking about), but I have been watching the comments on his answer, and I’m NOT the only trans person who is feeling pushed aside by nerdfighters in general. I’m NOT an isolated case and that just makes everything worse. What happened to me was bullshit, the fact that I’m not the only one is tragic.
And I know it’s not all nerdfighters, but there’s a really bad habit among nerdfighters to deflect when they’ve done things that hurt people. I’m sure you know what it’s like when you’re upset and people shove your concerns aside. We need to find ways to stop that as a cultural thing. (Not just nerdfighters!)
Also, final comment: Please never ever feel like you need to get involved when you don’t have the spoons. Everyone has bad days and there’s no reason to exasperate them.
