Hi, for the prompt, could I have some Kuzon, Mikak and Fox please ?
You have no idea how much this has been marinating, been rotating like a rotisserie chicken in my mind. Thank you for the prompt I had so much fun thinking about it and then writing it >3
Though technically an unaffiliated island, it was far too humid to be considered anything other than Fire Nation. Mikak fanned herself idly as she debated ordering a third shaved ice as she waited for her imbecile man. Her stomach would probably rebel against the sugar, but the relief from the heat was incredibly tempting…
“Wow, you’re really old,” a young voice said from her elbow.
Mikak looked down to find a wide-eyed girl staring at her. She was young, but not young enough to have her immediately concerned about her situation on this lawless island. She was unkempt, but not filthy, implying she was at least supported, if not cared for. From her style of dress and the dried salt in her unwashed hair, Mikak figured the kid worked for one of the many ships docked in the town.
“How old do you think I am?” Mikak asked, fighting back a teasing smile.
The kid tapped her lips, a sparkle in her dark gaze that promised mischief. “Well, older than me, but definitely younger than Old Man Bo on the edge of town. So probably around very old?”
Mikak laughed and gestured for the kid to sit across from her at the table she’d claimed while waiting for Kuzon. He was late, so his seat was forfeit to cheeky things who amused her.
“Astute observation, kid. You from around here, then?”
“Nah, just in town for a bit while my captain does business.”
“Oh, so you work on one of these ships, then?”
The girl rolled her eyes. “Unfortunately. But they’re not one of the fun ships.”
“And what makes a ship fun?”
“Piracy, obviously.”
Mikak narrowed her eyes as the girl grinned, all teeth, not even an attempt at innocence. “I see this wasn’t a random encounter.”
“Well, of course not! How could I miss the chance to meet the great Captain Mikak? But, really, I was shocked at how old you are to still be sailing like you are. I thought maybe you’d be agelessly immortal or something to explain how you’ve been a captain for so long.”
There was no containing her laughter. The kid was fearless! How long had she been observing Mikak before deciding to approach her? Since Mikak started her vigil waiting for Kuzon? Since her ship docked last night? Regardless, Mikak always did her best to encourage precocious young women, so a treat was in order.
“Kid, do you like sweets?”
“What? Yes? I mean, what?”
Delighted to catch the little troublemaker off guard, Mikak waved down a worker of the food stall and ordered more shaved ice. She would take the chance of a stomachache to indulge with her new, little friend. Maybe Mikak could steal her from her current crew… There was no way she was being properly appreciated.
The wait for her idiot was much more pleasant with her new company. Dipa, as she introduced herself, was a cabin boy (“It’s the title, isn’t it? Cabin girl doesn’t have the same ring to it,” Dipa said with a shrug.) for one of the legitimate traders in town. Mikak wasn’t familiar with the legitimate traders of these seas, which was a minor setback in her plan to steal Dipa for herself.
Their conversation was delightful, swinging effortlessly from sailing topics to the local gossip Dipa had picked up in the week she’d been in town. The girl was shrewd and observant on top of being a little shit. Oh, Mikak absolutely needed to leave with her on board her ship.
The sun was beginning to set as a harried, wrinkled asshole came running up the street, out of breath. “Mikak! I’m so sorry I’m late!” he exclaimed, coming to a stop in front of her, resting his hands on his knees as he gasped for air. “I’ve been running around town all day trying to find my wayward flower and-”
Kuzon cut himself off as he looked up and spotted the child seated across from Mikak. He narrowed his eyes at Dipa, then cursed under his breath and ran his hand through his hair as he stood upright.
“Of course, I should have come here first.” He sighed and shook his head. “Well, what’s this one’s name, then?”
If Mikak thought Dipa’s earlier smiles were sharp, they had nothing on the toothy thing she shot Kuzon, her eyes practically glowing with pride. “Dipa, cabin boy—because that’s the title, and cabin girl just doesn’t have the same ring, right?—of a local trader. Currently ingratiating herself with the great pirate captain Mikak because pirates are fun.”
Kuzon hummed. “Not bad. More solid than your last one with less details. Simple is better, lets the other person fill in the blanks to make the story work.”
“Excuse me, but what the fuck?” Mikak interjected, looking between them in disbelief. Did Kuzon set her up? No, his distress and surprise had seemed genuine but… What?
Kuzon laughed and gestured to the still beaming child. “Mikak, let me formally introduce you to my little weed, who’s been growing into quite the vicious flower. They’re actually why I asked we meet in person.”
Of course Mikak knew about Kuzon’s little flower. How could she not, with how often he wrote of them? She wasn’t even surprised Kuzon was reaching out for help, for the child he wrote of was not made for martial skills as Kuzon was. They were more suited for Mikak’s line of work. But even knowing about their tendency to blend into crowds and create personas to hide in plain sight, Mikak had a hard time believing what was before her eyes.
“Kid, have you ever even scrubbed a deck in your life?”
The child whose name was not really Dipa smirked. “No, but the kids who actually do sure do love to complain about it. Loudly. Where anyone can hear.”
In the Orochi!AU everyone would think that Arashi is Kakashi bio brother.
And is Shouta still alive when Arashi is found ?
I think Tenzo leaves ANBU before the Kyuubi attack, so yeah, Shouta is still alive.
Hes essentially out there rattling a food tin at Arashi like hes a stray cat, trying to lure him back into the house. Tenzo can come too, he and Akiko always wanted a big family!
Meanwhile Kakashi is there like no i found him thats MY feral gene augmented supersoldier little brother, find your own
If God really existed in Twilight do you think Marcus could see the relasionship with his belivers ?
And if he does not exist do you think there would be a sort of one-sided fake link ? Since Carlisle sincerely thinks God exist ?
Well.
We're getting weirdly religious and theological today I see.
Alright, you're lucky I'm feeling up to this.
A Bit On the "God" Character
I mean, we're talking about a very different series at this point. Twilight is very notable for a lack of a "God" character or even a hint of a higher power.
For all religion is brought up it's also generally brought up with a careless shrug as to whether there's anything to it or vampirism's just your odd quirk of evolution.
Back to Your Question
Well, we don't know there's not a God in Twilight for all that he doesn't show up as a malformed beaver a la South Park. It's like our universe, oh sure everyone has there very strong opinions, but no one's winning the age long argument if you catch my drift.
We don't know.
So, given that, I imagine Marcus' gift would not show such a relationship.
Adding to this is that God is not a human nor a vampire nor anything I expect to think remotely like a human or a vampire. This is a... seriously divine being who exists on such a level that, to be worthy of being called God, is not going to be like the rest of us.
God's "relationships" are not going to look like the rest of ours.
I imagine, as a result, they fly right of Marcus' head. They are on such a frequency or something that he cannot detect them. Just as he can't detect the relationship between a person and an ideal/object/anything that's not another person.
For this to be a thing...
Marcus would have to be able to see things like Bella's relationship to her beloved truck. She loves that truck, the friendship is real, and while Aro may have simply not commented on Bella's love for her truck in New Moon, I think it's unlikely given the description of how Marcus' gift works.
And then maybe, maybe, maaaaaaaaybe, Marcus might be able to detect such a thing.
Maybe.
So, no one-sided relationships, no two-way relationships, no hint of anything period.
Marcus gets to be as in the dark as the rest of us.
Do you think the M!Obito could somehow find a way to follow M!Kakashi in Wave with his sharingan ?
At that age, Obito doesnt have the sharingan yet- we're ralking 11, pre Kannabi bridge- if we were talking grown kakashi and obito, mkakashi has 20 minutes at MOST before obito shows up. He's Uchiha clingy, you know? Kakashi barely gets to shower on his own without obito checking he hasnt been ambushed by kirinin- he's a little paranoid after the war and rin.
Tobito, stalking kakashi from kamui, is SO embarrassed by mobito. Why is he like that??? He likes KAKASHIA?? KAKASHI KILLED RIN YOU LITTLE FREAK STOP FLIRTING WITH HIM
Honestly when Tobito finds out kakashi didnt kill rin in his timeline thats gonna be a bit of a mindfuck for him
I think it could be funny to see what an enemy think of Arashi.
Ranma is /bored/. The mission is /boring/. He's a taijutsu /genius/, one of the best in his generation- not to brag, or well, yes to brag, because Ranma is /the best/ and he deserves to brag- and they have him running a prisoner pick up?
Worse than that, he's not even in charge because they've put him on this mission with stupid Souochi, and his jounin partner. So Ranma is actually the most junior shinobi here.
If he cared less about fhe war, he'd deseert, he really would.
At least then he'd get to pick his own missions, and they could all be fun, interesting adventure missions instead of stupid, boring civilian-interface ones like this.
Admittedly, it wasn't tjat boring right now, he admitted, chambering another kick and watching the little Leaf Genin dodge hopelessly.
The kid didn't have a chance, not if Ranma decided to take this seriously, but Kicking Horse, as a style, was a little overpowered for taking out a fresh genin. Ranma knew he could kick the kid's head off his neck like snapping a carrot in half, but he was just /so bored/.
There was no harm in drawing things out. Worst comes to wrost, Souichi would show up and tell him off for playing with his food, because it's 'not dignified, what are you, a kiri-nin?' But for now, it's just Ranma, and the panicking genin.
He looked like he was going to cry, which would be funny- tears wouldn't save him. If je didnt want to die, he shouldn't have joined tje war- being a kid didn't excuse him from that, Ranma mused, as he kicked through and broke the genin's forearm with a clean heel strike.
Fool.
But then, weren't they all? Wasnt that why Ranma had insisted on getting the ink on his brow in the first place?
The whole world was full of fools, and Ranma was the only one who seemed to notice.
The genin, eyes wide and fearful, made a bunshin and disappeared, replacing himself with a sack of those weird poisonous apples the civilians were refining.
No problem- Ranma would just destroy the bunshin and haul him out of whatever hole he was hiding in.
He was going to make Souichi buy him tempura when they got home. Stupid Souichi, running late and leaving Ranma to do all the work instead.
Ranma put a little whimsy into it- rather than a simple strike, he pulled his foot back to do a Whistling Hoof Strike, planning to give the little genin a preview of his future fate.
He kicked out, sinking straight through the water bunshin, and then- then, his foot began to scream with pain.
Now I'm imagining Kiri!Arashi in the Akatsuki acting like Shouta/Akiko while Orochimaru is watching from a shadow while having flashback.
I wish i could be like lol get haunted motherfucker
But by that point i dont think Oro still cares enough to even get haunted by the ghosts of his friend returned as a vain weirdo teenager who loves crocodiles and claims to be a kiri native.
At least the way I'm writing him in morpheme, anyway....but it would be a very cool idea
Do you think Bella-in-the-past would save Didyme from Aro ? Like her gift tell her Didyme make Marcus happy and Marcus will be need in the futur
@allie-glace is referring to this series of posts in which Bella accidentally time travels to the Volturi.
Probably not because I doubt Bella knows about it.
Bella never knew why Marcus was the way he was and barely thought about him in canon. In this world she's only ever seen a picture, she has no idea he ever becomes depressed or that Didyme ever dies.
And Aro kept this very secret, Bella presumably would have no idea that Aro is planning his sister's murder and to her it'd be just as much of a shock as it is to Marcus. Didyme, randomly murdered by nomads, say it ain't so!
I imagine Bella might tell Aro to just let Marcus and Didyme leave but... If Aro resolves himself to it then Marcus will die.
