Didyme Volturi inspiration - for me Eva Green comes closest to what I think Didyme looks and acts like. 🖤🩸
Unpopular opinion, but I always pictured her a lot darker and more twisted than most people do. Kind of like her and Aro bringing out the worst in each other as siblings.
The reason why Didyme died in my eyes also has to be much more complex then Aro simply 'not wanting her to go' as fear of loss of power ... my headcanon is that she got mental because she wasn't able to handle immortality and thus Marcus tried to save and cure her madness.
Don't know about you but I love the idea of a much darker and more twisted Didyme, rather then the ray of sunshine she so often is portrayed as.
Having her being more conflicted also makes her power of making everyone else happy all the more painful! (And don't we all love a good drama? ;D)
What kind of gifts would Aro think were way too dangerous to use or be left to wander freely?
Canonically?
Marcus.
He killed his sister rather than allow Marcus to leave, not even as his enemy but as someone simply not on hand.
Would the volturi be interested in a vampire that could communicate with the dead?
"I sense... someone beloved, yes, someone lost too soon, a beloved wife and... sister. She's saying-"
Our medium vampire does not make it far, but on the upside he might be able to communicate with the living, in which case Aro has a terrible time.
"It's funny, I'm more wounded than I imagined I would be that he has sent one of his bloodhounds to finish me off rather than carrying out the task himself." Didyme sighs almost as if to herself, but she has sensed the other vampire in the room behind her as she finishes off a stich in the coat at her lap. There seemed to be an overabundance of garments in the world today, though she found it calming to make her own as she often had in the old world. The one before her brother had committed the ultimate act of betrayal that had placed her in the ground for millennia only to come gasping dirt and blood into this strange, changed world.
Though she has been attempting to keep a low profile, she suspected it was only a matter of time before her awakening got back to Aro. She had been tracking his coven from a distance as carefully as she could, planning her next move. But her eldest brother had spent longer here, and expanded his empire to the point of being near untouchable. "I suspect he has also told you not to believe a word I say." A sad, yet determined look is shot the strangers way. She'd always had a way with others that her brother hadn't. Perhaps she could still spin this in her favour. "Tell me, what do you believe?"
@ruerot (for demetri from didyme hehe)
Can you even imagine how much it would suck to be Corin. Not only does the scariest person in Volterra use you as a drug on the regular, but your entire job is to sit there with two bored queens 24/7 so they don't pull a Life and Death and revolt.
Meanwhile, you're hyperaware of the fact that there used to be a third queen who constantly radiated happiness and you're a woefully inadequate replacement for her. You're incapable of being around anyone who isn't stoned to some degree. What a life.
The Volturi Queens

All together!
NOT how I wanted to posted all 3 together but if I have the images side by side the crop is fucking dumb and Didyme loses her head...
Smeyer: vampires only form true bonds of love if they don't drink people blood
Also Smeyer: Marcus and Didyme had the greatest love to ever exist but they never changed their diet so yeah lol
