Brothers, not in blood; but in bond.
Press conferences were nothing but a sea of faces that Roman would almost always never see again. They were screaming questions out at him and they seemed so very confused with his answers. None of them understood the basic meaning behind why he suddenly donated new machinery to the Hospital; but one person in the crowd did understand.
That one person was in the back and was smiling slightly over toward him. It was a proud smile--and Roman felt pride in himself to know Tim was behind him every step of the way. This man was with him for so many years; since Highschool, and now they stood on opposite sides of the room as grown men and still close.
Once it was over, Roman could see that Tim had already made his way to the stairs. Waiting there for Roman to come down and meet him. "I didn't go overboard this time, I bet you think I grew some shame overnight, hm?" Roman grinned, taking the man by the shoulder to pull him into a hug.
"Not all of them understood the undertone to your answers but you were not as full of yourself as you usually are. You almost could pass for the Founder of this Corporation." Tim grinned, though there was a speck of red on his collar that alarmed Roman. Tim was somewhere else before the Conference--no--Mortimer was somewhere else before Tim came back to arrive in time for it.
"Should I ask..." Roman stared at Tim, only to see Tim's eyes read 'not now'. "Right. I'll speak with him later. I need my little black book with me to talk to him, after all."
Roman heard the announcement for the party over the speakers surrounding them. The party that was celebrating the success of his new masterpiece collection. "It's not about him tonight, Roman." Tim shook his head and patted the man on the back. "Tonight; it's all about you."
"Us." Roman corrected. "None of this would have happened if it weren't for both of us."
