Why Now? || all-in-the-fingerstripes
Gotham was always an ugly city in Conner's eyes. It was too crowded, smog covered, and filled with garbage. The population and the overflowing dumpsters alike. It was not his favorite place to be, honestly, but he put up with it. Only for his best friend, though. That was it. Only for Tim did he put up with walking through the disgusting and shady looking streets full of people who looked like they'd so much as pull out a switchblade in casual conversation.
Saying he disliked Gotham was an understatement, really.
But then again he didn't have much else that he could do. It wasn't like Tim could just come out to Happy Harbor all the time. He had stuff he needed to do here too. Either way, this place still made him on edge. The sooner I get there, the sooner I don't have to deal with accidentally kicking the shit out of someone who tries to mug me. He thought to himself as he neared the place he was supposed to be. If only he could fly, then he'd be perfectly fine. But no. He didn't get those genes. He'd never have those genes.
As he was lost in the self loathing, he ended up running right into someone. He jumped back out of habit, faking how a normal person would shift if they had been bumped into (body of steel kind of didn't allow that much normal, really).
