I'm on holiday at the German north shore and this "Leviathan! Ballads & Songs of the Whaling Trade" from 1967 from A.L. Lloyd fits really well. Before he became a professional folklorist in the 50s, Lloyd was working on a whaling ship (among many other jobs). He recorded several albums of folk songs from all over the world and was an important part of the English folk revival.
