"Marketers are a special kind of liar. Marketers lie to consumers because consumers demand it. Marketers tell stories, and consumers believe them." -Seth Godin via All Marketers Are Liars
In Seth Godin's "All Marketers Are Liars," he shows us what successful marketing looks like, and provides us with 5 steps brands take to achieve marketing success.
5 Steps for Successful Marketing:
Their world frames got their before you did. Frame your stories in the worldview of your consumers; they're more likely to believe that story.
People only notice the new and then make a guess. When something changes, consumers notice.
First impressions start the story. Consumers make quick and permanent judgements based on their first impression with your brand, so make a good one.
Great marketers tell stories we believe. Stories need to match consumer's predictions about the brand's product or service, if they don't resonate with the consumer, they won't believe that story.
Marketers with authenticity thrive. Authenticity can make or break your story, and determine whether or not the consumer will tell that story to other people.
