I do miss the kisses in the kitchen, The hallway hugs And somber silences. I miss my muse. The one who made the ghosts in my head disappear, But who would also create them. As old as I am, I do not understand why you've been given, Or perhaps granted happiness and wishes I've always longed for. And whilst I appreciate my fortune, It is not what my heart and soul desires. I can only wonder and mull on this confusion, And pray for my wishes to materialise. Whilst all the while, You are living my life.

There are always times when you doubt yourself. You doubt your ability and strength. For me, It was the last time I saw you. The enveloping hug that could only be achieved from prior intimacy. All you said was “bye”. White fanging me to get off your porch and subsequently out of your life. “I love you”, I thought. And that would be it.
