im going to have to battle with my house mates about it, my sister is down for it i think but her finance is unsure but its like... they’re so good

Hey, is Olive a silkie mix? Not used to seeing them so hard feathered. I love mixed birdies.

Shes supposed to be a purebred partridge silkie, but I believe shes missing part of the “silky feathering” gene so she has hard feathers. All her siblings were normal looking silkies.

What are the common health problems you select against when breeding Borzoi? I breed chickens, not dogs, but it is fun to learn about other parts of the animal kingdom.

The few issues that to plaque borzoi like osteosarcoma, bloat, and cardiomyopathy are hard to predict unless there is a history of it in the pedigree. Therefore you do not want to mix those pedigrees. Things like hereditary eye issues, hereditary cardiac issues, thyroid issues, and DM are all have gene marker tests that can be done before breeding and throughout the life of the dog. I have chosen not to breed several dogs of mine due to failed health testing. There there is the luck of the draw...
