Marvin Gaye Asked, What's Going On?
Ate some chunks of green, gold, and red melons, plus one boiled egg. Thought: it's a privilege to have food.
Read about Israel and Palestine, felt queasy and stupidly useless.
Read about the spray- tanned, uneducable aspiring dictator, and about the water-physics of Loch Ness.
Dinked around on the Chickering piano, stopped, thought of Gaza again. Wondered when I'd die. Picked up a book
about anti-fascist resistance fighters--women in 1940s Italy. Asked myself the usual questions:
who and why am I? Didn't bother to try to answer. Fell back on an old lukewarm but workable directive: do something good for someone else today.
