how about 11, 15, and 29 for that identity ask?
“11. describe your ideal day.”
This feels… nearly impossible to answer. I’m way too go-with-the-flow for that, I think. It was a long time ago that I learned that having preconceptions about a day was the easiest way to ruin it for myself, so I never really think about what I want from a day. It also depends on so many factors—whether I have energy or not (I can enjoy both, but that changes what I do), whether I’m in a glorious antisocial period or a thrilling social period. It also depends on how much I get to fantasize here—can I choose the impossible?
If I had to create an average, though, a perfect day would probably involve (among other things) drinking a cold mango lassi and plenty of water, getting told something affectionate of utmost sentimentality, not wearing many clothes, spending most of my time in the ocean without getting hypothermia or sunburnt, and getting to come up with story ideas with Guinness and Soraya. I think I could do that most days of my life and be happy.
But if we’re talking really ideal, my ideal day would involve exploring new planets rich with alien megafauna.
“15. five most influential books over your lifetime.”
1. Illusions by Richard Bach2. After Man by Dougal Dixon3. Expedition by Wayne Douglas Barlowe4. Though the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There by Lewis Carroll5. A Child’s First Library of Learning: Insect World edited by C.E. Berry
...man, I can’t believe I didn’t put any graphic novels on this list... or any design books... or any of the FRUiTS books, Gerald Durrell’s childhood autobiographies, His Dark Materials books, Moomin books, or “The Way Life Works”... :( For the record, Peanuts or Calvin and Hobbes would be on this list if I felt they qualified as ‘books’—even though I read them in collected volumes, they still seems like comic strips.
“29. three songs that you connect with right now.”
1. Stained by Kristin Hersh2. Shake by Kristin Hersh3. Destination Unknown by Missing Persons
