Impelled
Slowly I settle into the mindset of a witness
the universe is speaking
and I have my head to the ground.
What glory
is the sky beneath the trees
green in different shades
as the sun reflects
and branches
tangled, barren
indistinguishable to mine own eyes
I sit and wonder what it means to move forward
to a place far away
Rimbaud walked up the snowy alps and nearly died
Bukowski stayed put
I lilt wistfully and make pretend
