I'VE GOT A QUESTION - you ship tiniat with mical and atton and bao, right? like, a pod? how does that go down with atton? i mean, how is his rampant jealousy dealt with? is there romance between the boys or just with tiniat?
lmao so their relationship has several stages but at the end of their lives it's like this: tiniat is romantically involved with all three boys, atton is romantically involved with bao-dur and tiniat, and mical is romantically involved with brianna as well, tho she's not really a part of their "family" per se
i need to talk about brianna more
but like, early on, tiniat hits it off with bao-dur and mical, though she obviously has feelings for atton and he pretty obviously has feelings back at her. she sees his jealousy and she's like "i've been involved with this kind of hot mess before, it's up to atton whether or not he's going to settle down and stop acting like a spoiled child over who i have sex with or if he's going to keep having fucking tantrums"
and she's very honest about this, she literally tells atton to his face "man up and accept that you're not going to make me choose, and if you try, i'm not going to choose you. i love you, we could have something good, but only if you calm the fuck down jfc"
part of this comes from tiniat having some p bad experiences with attempted monogamy. her ability to form force bonds with people doesn't come from nowhere- she loves indiscriminately and widely, and she comes from a non-monogamous culture. monogamy isn't natural for her.
she lays this out for atton partly for her own defense because she can't deal with the fact that she loves atton so much but he's such a piece of shit sometimes
and, like... this was around dxun, when kreia's still got her hand on atton's leash and stuff, and atton is still trying to deal with the fact that he'd murdered so many jedi and was becoming one himself, and whether or not kreia's control has to do with that, and like... atton wasn't in a good place to kick off a romantic relationship.
(i'm pretty sure that he uses his wild jealousy as a tool to keep tiniat at arm's length, to keep her unattached to him, because you bet that if atton and tiniat started a relationship kreia would twist it to suit her needs)
tiniat's ultimatum was made out of ignorance and self-defense but it was still pretty awful under the circumstances. (months later, once the truth about kreia and shit comes out, she apologizes to him for that)
so after malachor, after kreia's death and the deterioration of tiniat's force bonds with the others (i need to decide what i want the consequences of malachor to be lmao), mical comes forward to tiniat and he's like "so kreia was erasing my memories and manipulating my perceptions i need to take a break and consider this"
like mical still loves tiniat and everything, but despite what he says to the exile post-dantooine the realization that kreia was manipulating him for months still really shakes him.
so mical took a step back from tiniat while they go help vasha out and bring her back to the galaxy.
meanwhile atton's been doing a lot of processing on his own, and like.
without the pressure from kreia to follow tiniat, he still feels like he needs to do that. he wants to be where tiniat is, relationship or not. she understands him in a way few do, she gets his self-loathing and his inability to reconcile what he's done with what he's doing.
without the need to be distant from the others in case kreia orders him to kill them, and with a little time to get to know mical, atton doesn't find him utterly detestable. mical's jokes are still terrible, he's still a tiny nerd baby with no real understanding of how the world works, but he's also optimistic and cheerful and honestly helpful. i mean you can't go through malachor together and not at least have some respect for each other
like at some point during the "let's rescue vasha" arc, atton admits to mical that they have the weirdest friendship and mical is like "we're friends?"
and like... atton liked bao-dur all along tbh, they were always kind of sarcastic, self-loathing buddies
and at some other point atton overhears bao-dur and mical talking about him and like... they're not just concerned about him and tiniat, they're both worried about atton for his own sake, which atton is 100% not used to. these people are actually concerned about him on an emotional level and not because of his utility? woah
like there is more stuff that happens in here that makes atton actually think about himself, the thing he has really been trying super fucking hard not to do for years
so after that whole arc, they return to the galaxy and tiniat is like "i'm going to take a few months and wander the republic and see what needs doing, but i'm going to help bastila restart the jedi order. if you want to be a part of that, meet up on dantooine in three months"
so everyone kind of goes their own ways for a few months. bao-dur visits his family, mical gets his shit in order with the republic, mira wraps up loose ends on nar shadaa, visas visits katarr, brianna meets up with her sisters, mandalore goes to dxun, etc. atton finds himself at kind of a loose end and ends up on dantooine way early (the droids return to vasha ofc. not sure about the ebon hawk, but it probably gets stolen)
in the end, everyone but mandalore goes to dantooine to meet up with tiniat and bastila (and vasha). mical, tiniat, and bastila form the unofficial jedi council, vasha tells them flat-out that she doesn't want to be an influence on the new jedi order because she has her own demons with it, and they get to work actually training and deciding what they actually want the new jedi order to look like
(and somewhere in here mical is like "so tiniat, about our relationship... that was cool, would you like to continue?" and tiniat is like "yes pls are you okay")
and like a few days in atton asks to talk to tiniat alone, and they Finally Talk about all the shit they've been through, tiniat admits that her ultimatum was gross as hell, atton admits that he's not alright and will never be alright, it's a long conversation. the gist of it is that atton decides that he wants to be a part of tiniat's life and that he wouldn't especially mind being part of bao-dur's and mical's by association.
and of course there's adjusting and squabbles over who gets to share tiniat's bed and the discovery that atton is terrible at doing his laundry and that mical leaves his books all over the dinner table etc etc etc normal relationship problems but they work through them
and of course there are babies
lmao this got long
pls ask me more things i need to flesh this all out
