Allison sometimes feels like the more careful she is to avoid monster boys with sweet eyes, the harder the universe works to push them together. Isaac has taken to dropping by to watch when she goes to the woods to practice marksmanship, and she knows he'd leave if she told him to, but she doesn't tell him to. Wouldn't, even if it weren't so obvious how ready he is to be told to get out, how it's his default prediction for how things will go. So he does his lounging-against-a-tree-looking-decoratively-and-deceptively-bored thing that she really wishes wasn't sexy, and she shoots at stuff.

He never comments if she gets a little wild, starts loading arrows too fast or hitting her knife-dummy tree a little too hard. She wonders if it scares him. She wonders how fear works for him. She wonders how it works for her, why she's having those dreams, why she feels like her heart squeezes when she thinks about touching him.

She's so busy wondering that she hits the tree at a weird angle. A chip flies off, scouring a line of 'ouch' down her hand as it goes. "Shit," she hisses, and pokes at the ragged skin left behind. Probably hunters are supposed to be more stoic about little cuts like this. Probably she doesn't care.

"Hey. Can I?"

Isaac doesn't usually come this close while she's using sharp things. When he does there's this vibration in the air between them, and she knows exactly what it is. For a while there she wondered if there was anyone other than Scott that that would ever happen with.

Isaac makes a little gesture with his hand towards hers. "We can take away pain," he elaborates. "If you want."

God, but Allison loves boys who ask permission. The cut barely even stings any more. She gives him her hand.

fun fact about liss: in the middle of my HSC (they’re like graduation exams??) i spent more time cooking than studying bc when i’m stressed i tend to bake things!! so my family got lots of chocolate chip cookies and muffins and i got… even more stressed bc i realised i’d wasted a day baking instead of studying whoops

it was really cute because boyd was shy and he really wanted to kiss erica on their third date just like in the movies and he wanted it to be perfect for her. but lbr she got kind of impatient and while he was quietly freaking out on her doorstep she stood up on her tiptoes and pulled him down by the back of the head and kissed him and it was perfect

at erica’s house in her bed while her parents weren’t home. it was a little awkward with a couple instances of fumbling (boyd dropped the condom and they clunked heads when they both tried to pick it up) but it ended up being really slow and amazing and erica might have cried but she’ll punch you if you even suggest that she might have
