A resounding echo of a loud slap carried across the length of the Rising Stones. The Elezen man was frozen, completely stunned by the sudden reaction of the Viera standing in front of him. One hand slowly reached up to gingerly prod at the red mark that had been left behind on his cheek. Hissing as the skin stung, he dropped his hand immediately and opened his mouth to speak.
The Viera held up a single finger at him, warning him to stay silent before she stomped down a nearby hallway out of sight from any possible prying eyes. He found her, leaning against the wall and arms crossed tightly in front of her. Her anger burned brightly, her eyes full of fire as she opened her mouth to speak.
"How dare you...." she whispered dangerously, "after all this time, now is when you show up. Not a single letter letting me know you were alive even. I have to save the entire godsdamn world and you just... disappear."
The Elezen attempted to speak, only to be interrupted as the Viera's rage hit its peak. The irritation in his face was evident, a scowl painted across his mouth deepened as her tone grew louder.
"I know that I'm not important to you, but you mean something to me and I just want to know that..."
"Would you stop your shouting at me for one moment, and listen?!" his hand reached out, a single finger pressed to her lips to silence her.
"Absolute madness. If you think I didn't care, would I be here at this very moment? I came here for you, and only you. I was wrong to leave the way I did, but it's all I know how to do. Fight or run. But now I'm here, to make things right and to help however I can," he removed the finger from her lips, and her eyes brimmed with tears. Reaching up unexpectedly, she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him in close.
"Idiot," she half giggled through her tears, "thank you for being here."
"Of course. There's nowhere I would rather be."
@allyennah thank you for the prompt!!!!! I am running low on brainpower from a busy week so hopefully this has not been a grammatical disaster!
