(sorry it took me so long to get to this! unexpected illness really interfering with my life here)
Rhys smiles at her, violet eyes starlit and sparkling more beautifully than the most precious jewel in the depths of the Night Court trove. “You,” he murmurs, lips tracing the shell of her ear, “are beautiful. And so fucking tempting, darling.”
Wretched tease, Feyre grumbles, too busy gasping for air to speak. His elegant fingers press against her, slick, circling right where she needs it, but never dipping inside, where she’s desperately empty and aching for him.
So needy, my love. His voice is a seductive purr in her mind, the exact tone she can’t help but melt under.
“He’s gotten into your head, hasn’t he?” Noel said suspiciously.
“Who has about what?” That could honestly be a lot of people, not that Arthur was going to say that out loud.
Arthur was half on top of Noel, head pillowed on his chest. They had just kind of… fallen there together. Christ he was exhausted.
A good kind of exhausted.
The kind of exhausted you get from a satisfying day of work where everything on your list gets checked off and a full meal is soon to be consumed and then a shower and then sleep in the arms of someone you trust.
Continue here or on Ao3
A heavenly exhausted compared to what the two had experienced in the past.
Arthur was practically basking in it.
“John,” Noel prompted.
“I’ll admit it, John has gotten into my head.”
Noel laughed. Arthur often wondered how Noel could still laugh like that. So unbridled and easy sounding.
Arthur didn’t think he had ever laughed like that.
Noel’s arm slunk around him and got him in a loose headlock-half hug, ruffling his hair with the other.
“Kid’s got jokes!”
“Wait—come’on Charlie, let me go!” Noel playfully roughed him up a little longer before finally releasing Arthur who chuckled breathlessly against his chest.
“Oh, that’s nice.” The hand that ruffled it up started smoothing down his hair.
“What is?” Arthur asked.
“Your laugh.”
“Fuck off.”
“Jeez, between you and John I need tweezers for the amount of prickles I gotta pull out.”
“I just… it’s hard when you’re so… sincere.”
“Truth hurts, don’t it?”
“I just…” Arthur sighed. “It doesn’t…”
“You don’t believe it,” Noel said. Knowingly. Too knowingly. “I get that, Arthur. You know I get that. Feels like a dream come true and neither of us can ever trust dreams again.”
“Yes,” Arthur breathed. “Yes.”
Stubble scrapeed against his temple and a kiss was planted. Noel held him a little tighter.
“He even made the good dreams hurt,” Arthur whispered.
“No more dreams then,” Noel promised. “No more nightmares. You and me, kid. Alright?”
“Alright.”
“Johnny’ll look after us.”
“Don’t encourage him.”
John had insisted on a separate room, and separate bed, and relished his separate body most days, but Arthur actually didn’t mind the occasional nights where he showed up, crawling into bed to wrap himself around Arthur.
Like if he pressed their skin together hard enough they would merge back into one.
He probably should mind. Noel probably should mind. Neither did though and they just let him and they held him.
It was when he would perch on the fucking nightstand and stare at them for hours on end that Arthur drew the line. He nearly cracked his head when he reached for his water and felt a human knee instead. And the times Noel would shriek because he would wake up to a pair of yellow eyes watching them in the darkness wasn’t pleasant either.
“You both looked comfortable, I didn’t want to disturb you.”
“So you did the perching thing instead?”
“Fuck you… I wanted to make sure you were breathing.”
“John…”
He wished he could hold it against him, but some nights he would make his way into John’s room and wake him up just to hear his voice because he hadn’t answered him because he wasn’t there anymore and it was just him in the never ending darkness now—
Jesus they were fucked up.
And that didn’t even include Noel’s own trauma.
Sometimes John would say something at exactly the right pitch and Noel would hear the King again and freeze and John would get terrified for hurting him and panic.
And sometimes it wasn't John's voice, sometimes it was the smell of wet mold that took him to the trenches.
Arthur sighed. He rolled so he could wrap an arm around Noel.
They really were fucked up.
“You put up with a lot,” Arthur said.
“So do you,” Noel said back. Fucking sincere, not a lick of sarcasm.
“Fuck you,” Arthur muttered into his chest.
“Oh, my darling porcupine,” Noel said with too much fondness. “One day you’re gonna accept that I love you, kid.”
“Noel.”
“And then a little later still, you’re gonna accept that I don't find it to be an awful thing, your love. Quite the opposite in fact.”
Arthur made a growly frustrated sound and Noel was laughing beautifully again. He could feel his smile press against his skin, the shape of one of his dimples, and Christ, Arthur could almost believe it. He could almost touch that feeling of certainty and safety.
Instead he tensed, waiting for it to be ripped away.
Noel pressed another kiss to his temple. He was awake. He was awake.
“How do I do this for you, Charlie?” Arthur asked. “How do I make it better for you?” Like you make it better for me?
“Oh, you want the goods huh? Okay. Well, first you could wrap your arm around me. Pretty much how you are right now. Hum, let me see. You could maybe call me Charlie sometimes. Not as a name, but as an endearment. That feels good and grounding. Makes me associate it with you instead of him.”
“Charlie…”
Soft: “Just like that, yeah, perfect. You could also… well I don’t know… maybe you could take out your lighter as soon as you hear the click of my cigarette case opening, offer me a light because you know about my stiff fingers. You could hum something soft and sweet to me when I go pale and still for no damn good reason. You could tell me to get fucked when I dote on you because when you do that you get all flustered and have this boyish look about you, and I feel my heart beat, and I know that you’re real and this is real.”
“Fuck you.” He was getting Noel’s shirt wet.
“Fuck, kid, this is real.” Another lean for a kiss, but Arthur moved his head just so, so that it landed on his nose. He had been trying for lips, but neither could bend that far. Noel grinned against him. He loved the feeling of his smile.
It’s real.
“Wait, what were you talking about before, about John?”
“Hm? Oh! Hah,” Noel’s chest rumbles with his quiet amusement. “His thing about the Sox.”
“Jesus Christ, you’ve got me in bed and you wanted to talk about baseball?”
“Just because we live in Massachusetts does not mean we support the Sox.”
Arthur huffed. “I didn’t care before I was blind, and I care less now, and even I know the Arkham Crawlers are a lousy team.”
“The Sox haven’t won for more than a decade and a half!!”
“The Crawlers haven’t made it to a series ever, at all.”
“Don’t you quote John at me! You know what? Forget all that mush I was talking about before.” Noel rolled over, but instead of getting out of bed he adjusted them into a spoon. “There’s no living with you now,” he declared, rubbing his cheek against Arthur’s shoulder. “Taking John’s side against me.”
“Would it make you feel any better if I told you I don’t give a fuck about baseball and I never will?”
“Only if you say something nasty about Boston.”
“Billy Werber is a showboating malcontent.”
“Oh and look, the mush is back again. Only you, my sweet little porcupine.”
Arthur shook his head affectionately and basked in the warmth of being held.
“Fuck you.”
“Yeah, yeah, tough guy. I love you too.”
Fuck.
He tried to say it.
But he was so sure as soon as he said it the dream would end, and he would wake up, and the King would be laughing at him.
Or worse.
It wouldn’t be a dream, or a nightmare, it would just be Arthur Lester’s life so far, and Noel would die and it would be his—
No.
Shut up.
He ran his hand down his Charlie’s arm, and took his hand, bringing it up to kiss it.
It was pathetic. It was all he could do.
Noel made a happy little sound. “I know, kid, you don’t have to say it.”
Noel’s breath evened out behind him. Arthur felt himself drift.
“You fucks. I’ve been cooking for an hour and you’re asleep?”
“Shh, I’m wooing my porcupine, you owl-eyed miscreant,” Noel answered drowsily.
“He’s already wooed, now he needs to be fed. Both of you do.”
“See?” Noel chuckled. “Told ya he’d look after us.”
“Is it enough to forgive him for supporting the Sox?” Arthur asked, reluctantly pulling himself up, keeping his face perfectly straight.
“Never,” Noel vowed.
“Jesus Christ, Arthur, he’s gotten into your head, hasn’t he?”
Just let me stay awake a little longer, Arthur thought to himself. Just a little bit longer.
ENCHANTED PROMPT: “Plan a private picnic by the fires glow.”

A quick rasp at the door caused you to look up from your book. Wordlessly you sighed dropping your marker on your page.
It was just getting good too….
You gave a longing look back at your book before you adjusted your sweater and headed to the door.
“Yes?” Your tired gaze settled on the stoic form of your boyfriend’s assistant.
Ecco. Her blue eyes were deep as she swept your form with a quick nod.
Your lazy afternoon gone in a matter of seconds.
“Come with me please.”
Your brows arched as you stiffened,“Is Jeremi- “
“Mister Wilde, is fine.” Her voice was firm.” I have been instructed to come collect you at his request.”
A soft whine bubbled from your chest as you grabbed your shoes, slipping them on before reaching for your keys. Ecco’s eyes never leaving you as you locked the door. Her hand fell to your back as she guided you to the car, your mind racing with all matter of worry.
Is he okay?
Did something happen-
Jeremiah always informed you ahead of time if he was sending his proxy
Always.
His assistant remained steadfast and silent as she drove you the hidden paths to Jeremiah’s bunker deep in the outskirts of Gotham. Your hands twisted the seat belt in knots as you stared out the tinted window; the city skyline getting smaller and smaller in the rear view. Time seemed to drag as the car headed into the darkness; the soft glow of the headlights illuminating the rugged path ahead of you.
Please be okay... Please be okay.
Your knuckles were white as the car finally eked to a stop, you had to force yourself to still as the blonde came around to open your door. She led you through the familiar path to the cylinder block square nestled into the ground, with a soft click the door opened. Your chest was tight as the grey walls were bathed in a crisp glowing light. In an instant you threw yourself down the hall, the tense energy that bubbled in your chest burst as you sprinted leaving Ecco behind.
“Jeremiah-
Jeremiah…please answer me.”
Your voice grew more desperate with every scream. There was no sign of your red headed engineer-
Images of him collapsed somewhere down one of the many twisting halls flooded your mind; his body limp, lifeless on the cold concrete. The soles of your sneakers skidded to a stop as a faint crunch caught under your feet.
Your frantic gaze veered down to see a petal crumbled under your rampage… a vibrant crimson rose.
You backtracked catching sight of more petals… your siege paused as you followed the trail down the new corridor. The white lights were dimmed; instead, the hall was illuminated in soft glow of small flickering candles. A warm whiff of your favorite scent guided you down the hall.
Did… Jeremiah do this?
Every so often you’d come home to a beautiful bouquet on your table with a handwritten note of adoration. Small gifts would be delivered to your workplace, but never a gesture like this.
You thumbed the rose petal in your palm as you gawked in awe as you moved along unsure of your destination.
The hall opened up to a room familiar. The den where you and your significant other spent hours, reading, laughing and enjoying the others company.
The worn petal slipped from your hand as you laid sight on a room aglow by a steady crackling flame in a fireplace… a new fireplace. Lanterns filled in the gaps chasing away any inkling of frigid darkness.
Your hands flew to cover your lips as a surprised gasp escaped you. A massive fur rug was spread over the typical cold concrete draped with plush pillows and blankets. The rose petals had blossomed into dozens of stems planted in small metal vases laid meticulously across the space, dancing in the dim glow.
“Do you like it Darling?”
You nearly melted hearing Jeremiah’s breezy voice tickle your ear; your eyes squeezed shut as his arms slipped around you in a warm embrace
He pulled you in close his cologne faint, filled your senses as you held him.
“It’s… amazing…”
You froze in you enrapture; eyes growing wide for a split second as you remembered-
“Don’t Scare Me Like That.” The words flew from your mouth angrily as you wiggled turning to smack your partners chest.
“Do you know how worried I was?
I thought you were dead.
Ecco didn’t say anything and you- “
Jeremiah’s lips cut you off as he cradled your cheek in his hand. His forehead together against yours pulling away to speak in your place.
“Forgive me. I know it’s brash but I wanted to surprise you and didn’t know any other way.”
You grazed the back of his hand falling into the deep green pools of his eyes. His dark brows knitted in concern at your silence.
After a few moments your bubbling giggle filled the room. “Don’t make it a habit.” You pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose before turning back to the fireplace.
Your partner’s hand entwined into yours with a low breathy chuckle and a shake of his head as he led you to the warmth of the hearth, guiding you to a cushion before slipping off to the side returning quickly with two glasses and a covered dish.
“Thank you.” You grinned as you reached to take one of the glasses filled with your favorite wine.
He settled beside you before laying the dish to the side before taking a drink of his own.
“I do wish you would have at least given me a clue…” You swirled your glass before taking a sip. “I feel so out of place in all this elegance.” Even he had dressed impeccably as always in a copper toned sport coat and trousers down to his shoes that shined with care.
Jeremiah’s hand brushed against your knuckles pulling your attention from the drink; the flame dancing off the lenses of his glasses as he stared into the roaring fire.
“It doesn’t compare.”
The faintest grin crept on his face as he caught a glimpse of your eyes darting away to your glass, your form dipped at his sincerity. He felt a small pride seeing your blush, the bashful grins as you took his compliments was almost mind numbing for him. “All the grandest gestures I could give would never measure to the one you have given me.”
Your head lifted with the faintest tilt as you set your glass aside. “…Sweetheart is was just a watch...”
Your naïve nature was a charm he held so dear to his heart Jeremiah wanted nothing more than to protect you, to guard you from the evils of the outside world that had turned him callous and cold.
He felt his cheeks crack into a chuckling grin that spilled into his speech. “-And it’s a lovely piece, but it wasn’t…quite what I had in mind.”
He cleared his throat as he turned to face you reaching to take both your hands.
You gave him a reason to step away and take part in the small pleasures.
He felt life was worth something again. He was alive when you were with him, the mere thought of you now made Jeremiah…dare he say giddy like school boy with his first love. He now had a purpose beyond the piles of blueprints and sticky notes lining the walls of office.
He had you.
The fear that paralyzed him to hide in the shadows of the underground was cracking, shedding a light on a new life that he could build with his new purpose.
Even now as he looked to you, blinking under the cover of the candle lit room a weak smile slipped across his lips. The words all planned, down to the breathes he’d take all but faded away; Jeremiah didn’t even notice the faint tremor in his hands as he took in a breath in an attempt to seal his nerves.
You made him a mess.
“Y/N, my darling... will you stay here? With me.”
Your eyes glistened, as a soft gasp escaped you breaking into a beaming smile as you nodded eagerly your whole-body following along.
Before you could reply, he pressed a finger to your parted lips. His voice was faint as he dropped an addition.
“The night, and forever.”
You couldn’t hold the elation that was bursting in your chest; suddenly you sprang forward overtaking him in a fit of glee as one word fell feverishly from your lips. Yes. Yes, yes yes.
The two of you went tumbling down to the plush carpet. Jeremiah was on his back in an instant as your lips came crashing down to capture his own in a buzz of excitement.
Unprepared he flinched as the two of you went reeling back; his mind going blank as your lips settled into his. His hands wandered to hold your waist steady, savoring the taste of the drink on your lips before watching you pull away with a breathless huff.
And now, he would never have to think of another day were you wouldn’t be with him.
I'd love to see #88 for the prompt thing if it sparks joy 🥺
Oh no, I'm gonna cry...
88. “I never meant to fall in love with you, I just did.”

[Angst/Fluff Prompts]
Ronan had seen it. Experienced it. Like he had been Adam. Like Adam had been him. He remembered these memories, these feelings so acutely, perhaps because it was love and fear and a little frustration all rolled into one. Perhaps because Ronan was still a little insecure. He'd asked Adam, because they had no lies between them any more, even if it was harder this way, being a corporeal being, unable to meld consciousnesses.
"You really tried to convince yourself you weren't in love with me?" It was more a statement than a question. He knew it was true.
Adam looked at him and nodded. He was so still, not fidgeting, not anxious, facing Ronan's question head on.
"I never meant to fall in love with you," he said softly. "I just did."
Ronan took a breath. The words stung in a strange way but he was working very hard on not just reacting. He had to listen.
"Love had never factored into any of my plans, Ronan. I didn't think anyone would ever love me or that I could ever love anyone else." Adam reached for his hand, folding their fingers together.
Numquam solus.
"You proved me wrong."
Adam ran his thumb against Ronan's, looking at their hands, before turning his dark blue eyes up to look at Ronan once more.
"The future I thought I wanted for myself wasn't actually what I wanted at all. I want you and I want magic and I want stability. I want a future with you because I love you. You were the best surprise, the most difficult choice. And I'll choose you, again and again, because I love you."
Prompt: "Go away," he said, holding tighter. "You're holding me, you idiot." "So mean."
For the lovely @msmischief101 ❤❤
It’s been four days. Four long days since Stiles left Theo and his pack of chimeras. He needed a goddamn break from all the looks. Hayden like she’s trying to figure out why he’s here and not with Scott. Corey’s filled with so much sympathy and understanding it almost makes him want to hurl. Theo’s glances and smirks and knowing blue eyes that somehow make it seem like Stiles hung the fucking moon just for him. And Tracy. The kanima’s looks of pure fury and jealousy from the former’s everything towards Stiles.
Okay, so Stiles didn’t actually leave the pack. Theo is still his Alpha when it comes down to it. The fox knows as well as any other supernatural creature that a lone ‘were doesn’t stand a chance. No, the Beta just needed some space to decide what he wanted. To be more clear, if Theo is what he wants or if it’s a better idea to keep the chimera at arms length. It seemed though, the day he left, he hurt Theo’s feelings in the process. Unless it’s been something pack related, the Alpha hasn’t answered a single on of Stiles’ texts since he’d left.
It’s not like Theo is really a bad guy anymore either. He’s so nice and considerate when it comes to Stiles. There’s a genuine heart in the Alpha and when it comes to the fox he wears it on his sleeve. Maybe it’s more so the fact that Stiles wasn’t prepared for that from Theo and it scared him just how much he enjoyed it.
He didn’t go far either. Just the next town over in a shitty excuse for a motel room. Stiles just needed to make the voices in his head form one cohesive sentence. So much so that he’s barely left the dodgey room since he got here. That is until he’s sitting on the bed eating questionable tacos and watching some black and white movie he’s barely paying attention to. The Beta feels it in his chest before he even got the phone call. Like a cold, slippery darkness squeezing his heart until his eyes start to burn.
Something’s wrong with Theo.
Stiles’ phone buzzes beside him, making him jump and nearly send the remnants of the taco in his lap go flying. It’s Josh. The only one left who treats him like he’s not this fragile little boy licking his wounds from losing his brother. Or like they’re contemplating if someone would miss him if he were to suddenly disappear. Or as though Stiles is everything he could ever want in another person. The fox didn’t know how to handle someone looking at him like that. So he ran, to think while he hides.
“What’s wrong?” Stiles asks in lieu of an actual greeting.
“You and I both know that Theo won’t ask for help no matter how badly he needs it,” the raiju tells him. Which is news to no one. “He’s not exactly coherent. But, Stiles,” Josh sighs, “he’s asking for you.”
The fox doesn’t ask for clarification. Doesn’t need a reason or an excuse or anything really. Apparently, Stiles didn’t need much in the way of thinking either to be perfectly honest. Theo needs him and that’s enough. That when he doesn’t even have his wits about him, the chimera is calling for Stiles. Well, if that isn’t a sure fire way to make someone else’s heart wake the fuck up, the fox doesn’t know what else could. There’s just the one resounding thought in his mind, one that’s shouting at him and making his fox whine inside of him.
Theo needs him.
When the fox pulls up to Theo’s house a half hour later, he ignores every pack member- including Josh’s warnings that Theo might not be happy with him for calling Stiles in the first place. Instead, he walks right up the stairs to the Alpha’s room. He finds the chimera sitting up against his headboard, holding his legs to his chest, forehead resting against his knees. The scent of sadness and panic thick in the air.
Middle of the night and curled in on oneself, Stiles knows that combination better than anyone. Theo had a nightmare. Putting the pieces together, it was about him. Not thinking twice, the fox sits on the bed right beside the Alpha. Theo instantly curls into him. Tucking his head into Stiles’ chest and clinging to him like a lifeline.
“Go away,” Theo says, grabbing tighter. Like the Beta might for once do what he’s told.
Smiling despite himself, “you’re holding me, you idiot,” he says. Always one to point out the obvious. Use humor and sarcasm to hide his blatant enjoyment of the whole situation.
“So mean,” the chimera mumbles into the Beta’s chest. Very out of character, but Stiles can’t find it in himself to see it as anything other than endearing.
Stiles sputters out a laugh, “says the one who just told me to go away.”
A small, halfhearted shrug jostles him from his place on the Alpha’s bed, “you said you wanted your space. I was giving it to you.”
“Well, I’m here now, aren’t I?” Stiles asks, hoping it conveys exactly what he means as he wraps his own arms around the Alpha. “And I’m not going anywhere.”
The chimera lifts his head up, face barely inches away from the Beta’s. “You really mean that?” Theo asks, voice stuck in amazement and confusion, “what about needing to think?”
Stiles closes the distance, unable to control his smile at the spike in Theo’s heartbeat when he rests their foreheads together. “Let’s just say someone made it really easy for me.”
The Alpha’s hand comes up to cup the nape of the fox’s neck, “and what did you decide?” He leans back with a smirk, becoming more and more himself as the seconds roll by. Of course the chimera is going to make him say it.
“That being with you,” Stiles brushes the Alpha’s bangs out of his face, “is exactly where I want to be.”
Theo barely lets him finish his sentence before he’s smiling and pressing their mouths together. Nothing could feel more right than Theo’s lips colliding with his own until they’re laying down, getting comfortable and snuggling one another to sleep. Not a single nightmare in sight.
A resounding echo of a loud slap carried across the length of the Rising Stones. The Elezen man was frozen, completely stunned by the sudden reaction of the Viera standing in front of him. One hand slowly reached up to gingerly prod at the red mark that had been left behind on his cheek. Hissing as the skin stung, he dropped his hand immediately and opened his mouth to speak.
The Viera held up a single finger at him, warning him to stay silent before she stomped down a nearby hallway out of sight from any possible prying eyes. He found her, leaning against the wall and arms crossed tightly in front of her. Her anger burned brightly, her eyes full of fire as she opened her mouth to speak.
"How dare you...." she whispered dangerously, "after all this time, now is when you show up. Not a single letter letting me know you were alive even. I have to save the entire godsdamn world and you just... disappear."
The Elezen attempted to speak, only to be interrupted as the Viera's rage hit its peak. The irritation in his face was evident, a scowl painted across his mouth deepened as her tone grew louder.
"I know that I'm not important to you, but you mean something to me and I just want to know that..."
"Would you stop your shouting at me for one moment, and listen?!" his hand reached out, a single finger pressed to her lips to silence her.
"Absolute madness. If you think I didn't care, would I be here at this very moment? I came here for you, and only you. I was wrong to leave the way I did, but it's all I know how to do. Fight or run. But now I'm here, to make things right and to help however I can," he removed the finger from her lips, and her eyes brimmed with tears. Reaching up unexpectedly, she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him in close.
"Idiot," she half giggled through her tears, "thank you for being here."
"Of course. There's nowhere I would rather be."
@allyennah thank you for the prompt!!!!! I am running low on brainpower from a busy week so hopefully this has not been a grammatical disaster!
• falling asleep on the couch, waking up to not only a blanket around them, but their partner squeezed in behind them.
It's up to you who's gonna be the one looking for that extra warmth™ 😉😉
Aang really isn’t surprised to wake up with a blanket draped over him after falling asleep on the couch. What did surprise him is the small body he can feel tucked between him and the couch.
He’s confused as to why someone would be squeezed onto the couch with him until a crack of thunder tears through the house. He smiles slightly at the realization that it’s Toph behind him. Everyday, she puts up a tough front and covers her emotions with sarcasm but then something as harmless as thunder comes by and she becomes quiet and slightly on edge.
He remembers now, something Zuko had said about a storm coming in from the South that would last the rest of the weekend at Ember Island. Not wanting to ride Appa through the storm, the group decided to wait out the storm before heading back.
Turning over onto his back, he sees that her eyes are closed and her little puffs of breath move the hair hanging down in front of her face just slightly. Snaking an arm underneath her, he pulls her closer to him.
Toph moves so that her head is resting on his chest, her hand coming up to press flat against his heart. Aang had noticed that she always placed her hand on his pulse points when she was unsure about something and when he asked about it she had muttered to him one night about wanting a second opinion.
He stares up at the ceiling and sees the flash of lightning illuminate the main sitting room, he grips Toph tighter to him until the roll of thunder has passed. Craning his head, he gets a glimpse of the hallways and sees that there aren’t any flickering candlelight coming from there and guesses that everyone must have gone to bed. Well, until Sokka walks through the sitting room in nothing but his underwear, obviously heading towards the kitchen.
“Nice underwear,” Aang whisper shouts to Sokka.
He can’t help but stifle a laugh when Sokka jumps and gets into a defensive stance. Seeing that it’s only Aang, he lowers his hands back down to his side.
“Spirits Aang. What the hell are you doing on the sofa? Go to your fucking room!” Sokka whisper yells at him.
“I would if I could, but its thundering and Toph is on me.”
“Oh, Toph is on you, huh? Didn’t realize you guys had stopped screwing around and sealed the deal,” he says, waggling his eyebrows at him.
A bright blush covers Aang’s cheeks, he sputters out, “What? You don’t know- Shut up. There’s nothing going on between us. She just doesn’t like the thunder, you know that. She’s clung to you before.”
“Yeah, she hasn’t done that in years buddy, it’s always you she goes for. The sooner you guys admit it the sooner the rest of us will stop teasing you,” he says before turning on his heel and pushing through the swinging door to the kitchen.
Dropping his head back down onto the couch, he takes a deep breath and considers what Sokka is saying. Even though he is one hundred percent certain of his feelings towards her, she was harder to read. In fear of rejection once again, he wasn’t going to say anything to her until she said something first.
Taking a deep breath, he sits up and gathers Toph up into his arms and makes the trek to his room. Laying her down in the bed, he stretches his arms up over his head and before he has time to react, a bolt of lightening streaks across the sky and a clap of thunder quickly follows. Toph bolts straight up in bed breathing hard, her eyes wide and panicked.
Aang immediately sits down on the bed beside her and gently touches her shoulder to let her know he is beside her, “Hey, hey. I’m right here. I had just set you down for a moment,” he whispers. Toph nods her head slightly and slowly, she lays back down.
Aang pulls the blanket over them and immediately, Toph is laying her head against his shoulder with her hand on his heart. He turns over onto his side and pulls her closer to him so that she is nestled just under his chin.
“It just scared me and I couldn’t feel you,” she whispers to him.
“I know,” he whispers back and without thinking, he kisses her forehead in reassurance. His eyes instantly go wide in panic of how she is going to react. He feels her slowly lift her face up to his, the feel of her nose ghosting along his throat as she looks up at him makes him swallow hard.
“You kissed me.”
“Uh, yeah. Sorry,” he says softly hoping she doesn’t push him off. A few moments pass and the longer she has her face tilted up at him not saying anything, the more he is worried he has pissed her off.
"S'okay," she murmurs. He feels her hand leave the place over his heart, brush past his shoulder until she is gripping hate back of his neck, she pulls him down to press her chappe lips against his.
