☯ I Believe In Yesterday ☯
Bre had not spoken with him over the last couple of days and it was one of the most unnerving experiences he had dealt with. Usually, the tension that built within him would have subsided by now, but this seemed different. He was unable to remember the events – and so – unlikely to understand what had made her fear him so. If ever he walked into a room she was occupying, she would either leave immediately or make sure she was on the other side of the room, making it impossible for him to begin a conversation.
Many times had he tried, only to fail miserably and fall back. Clearly, something had been said, or he had done something he really shouldn’t have, but unless she told him what that was he’d be forever guessing. And today, as the rain flooded the earth from the darkened grey skies above his home, he wondered if he might catch a moment or two with her. Perhaps he could try to make conversation this morning. With that in mind, he propped himself up on his elbows, rubbed his tired eyes and yawned. And what a miserable day it was, indeed. After donning a pair of fresh pants and an old, paint covered shirt, he pulled on his slipper-boots and trotted out of his room. He hoped, with all he had in him, that she was up and already making breakfast.
