"So...your mom was in here the other day. Remembered me by name so I think that officially makes us like best best friends," Alma teased as she and Dani sorted through some of the new supplies they had to put out on the shelves. "You're lucky. My mom barely remembers my name let alone knows any of my friends names." It was an offhand joke, one of many that Alma made in an attempt to share about her life without really sharing. But lately her relationship with her mother had started to get worse and it was hard for it to not affect Alma's every day. "Anyway, we get off work at the same time today. You wanna hang out? Alma was still feeling pretty shitty but not as shitty as she had been last week. Her father had given her quite the pep talk and perspective over the weekend when he called and Alma was trying their hardest to still have hope. So to encourage that in herself she had made a point to stop by Cupid's to buy some new stationary for writing letters to her father and to spend some of her time this summer writing to friends of hers she wanted to better connect with. "Hi Honey," Alma said sweetly as they spotted them at the counter, always a welcome site. It had taken her a moment to connect the dots between Sonnet and Honey but either way Alma could certify that the Wozniacks were very crush worthy. A fact she'd happily keep to herself.
