Today I fucked up... By having a crush

So I've been crushing on this girl for about 4 months, right? Everythings good, I make conversation, we're on good terms. A little backstory: I live in the south eastern united states, ya know, rednecks, hillbillies, everyones related to everyone. Anyway, I'm scrolling through facebook and see some pics from a lil family get together of hers that her mom tagged her in. The genius I am thinks "yo! Like that post, maybe she'll notice me subtly liking photos." Well a couple hours later I get a message from her. I'm all like "whoa! It worked!" Her message says "hey how are you kin to ______." Her mom had apparently connected some dots when she saw my last name on facebook. My gut drops. "No no no" I immediately start thinking. "Maybe she just knows her?" So I explain how I'm related to the person they mentioned, and get a response that says "oh, thats my great aunt." Great. I've been crushing on someone thats like my second cousin or something. Curse you world. Worst April Fools ever because no one is saying it was a joke.

This happens too often

So today I was celebrating my half brother’s graduation to the University Of Washington, and we had a big family dinner at a nice Italian place. Since he is my half brother, there were people eating with us that I did not know well since they are not my relatives. One of these people was his half sister… and I had to sit with her. Throughout the entire dinner she was directly staring at me and trying to flirt with me because she had a crush on me. Every time I looked at her, her face turned bright red and looked away.(She’s 14 and I’m 15 so we’re relatively the same age btw) This was easily the most awkward meal of my entire life, and after the meal she was asking my dad if her and I were related at all by blood. She asked this because she wanted to go out with me.
