Melissa Benoist as Bree Buckley in “The Waterfront”
This is so disappointing.. And to think I almost felt okay with myself.. Now this.. 😔😔😔 I'm a failure...
Fighting Finite
I want to span forever, Keep improving, be infinite In proving my breathes Fueled a monsoon of change All across the globe. In developing an internal fight against the finite I don't flock to physical art, so permanent, Unable to be edited or undone. A statue or a painting cannot be improved By switching pronounced features, No message comes of rearranging New perceptions with the old When the old must be dismantled. Conversely, there is beauty only In freezeframes. A rainbow is a moment When the atmosphere's reflection on time Manifests. Light is a philosopher That learned how to illuminate faces With both sunbeams and beaming smiles. Particles that flash only mere tocks Live fully within their confines By producing an expiring glimpse. I can begrudge the ability to capture what is seen So well the artist can use a canvas - A thick writing surface impervious to erasers. A lot of people put their best Grin or laugh into photographs Daring the present to capture them. I sometimes lack the bravery To let one sculpture of time Define me forever.
