So I had a dream about us last night. I hadn’t had one in a long, long time. At least that kind of dream. We were lying on the ground holding hands like we used to, my head on your belly, not speaking just enjoying the quiet moment together. You wore that black T-shirt I loved on you and your black pants. Absolutely engulfed by your smell, I’ve forgotten it but in my dream, it came back to me and then I felt every cell in my body relaxed like it hadn’t been since the night we had parted. I felt happy, alive. I was overwhelmed by feeling this again that I leaned forward and kiss you - yes, I kissed you. I had never done it, you were the one who always kissed me first. And in that dream, I felt confident enough to do that and you loved it. You didn’t push me away or pulled away. You kissed me back and I knew you felt the same way as I did. It was the happiest realization and then I woke up with a smile on my face, completely contented. Later today I’ve realized that for me it was the most perfect dream I could ever have. It took me back to the past, to a version of me that was actually the real me. But for you, for you, it would have been a nightmare.
