These Almost Syn Free Bagels are tasty and good for people on Slimming World who like bagels. They taste great and are low in syns because they are made with self-raising flour and fat-free Greek yogurt. Good for a breakfast or snack without feeling bad about it!
Ingredients: 300g self-raising flour. 1 teaspoon baking powder. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 1 teaspoon sweetener optional. 300g fat-free Greek yogurt. 1 egg, beaten for brushing. Sesame seeds or poppy seeds optional, for topping.
Instructions: Warm your oven up to 350F 180C and put parchment paper on a baking sheet. Self-raising flour, baking powder, salt, and sweetener if using should all be mixed together in a bowl. Combine well. Mix the dry ingredients together with the fat-free Greek yogurt until a dough forms. Make 4 equal pieces of dough and shape each one into the shape of a bagel. You can use your finger or the back of a spoon to make a hole in the middle. Place the shaped bagels on the baking sheet that has been prepared. Beat an egg and brush it on top of each bagel. If you want, you can sprinkle sesame seeds or poppy seeds on top as well. Warm the oven up and put the bagels in it. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and fully cooked. Take them out of the oven and let them cool down a bit before you serve them. Have fun with your almost-syn-free bagels!
