A MYSTERIOUS SYMBOL SPOTTED AROUND THE WIZARDING COMMUNITY? [ EVENT ]
Owls have been spotted delivering parchments with a mysterious symbol to every witch and wizard in the wizarding community. Its origin and meaning remains unknown. This is the second time the incident has occurred since the symbol’s first sighting several months ago.

Although Belle was well aware that she wasn’t the only once magical Being turned into Beast in Hogwarts (heck, she knew she wasn’t the only student with Veela blood running through her veins) the brunette was... scouting people, so to speak. Looking for people who she could trust enough to reveal her true intents to and give the task of guarding her back as she actively defended theirs. Perhaps it was because of the fact that she was quite a recluse, even in her own House, which made the half-Veela contact an intern from a Daily Prophet whom she’s heard was against the reclassification and is a half-Veela such as herself.
To Miss Kim Hyoyeon.
Good day. I reckon that this letter may come as a surprise as we’ve never met before I sent this piece of parchment to your workplace, but we have a similarity regarding our genealogy and I was wondering if we could meet at the Three Broomsticks in a time where we’re both available? I’ve heard that you were quite displeased with the decision our current leading regime has taken, and I’m quite curious regarding your thoughts on the matter. Please just hand your letter back to the owl and it would swiftly deliver it back to me without delay and any kind of intervention from unwanted, prying eyes.

The letter was punishingly formal, a reflection of how Belle behaved around others (usually around older and/or authoritative figures), and hinted at Belle’s own view regarding the reclassification, which was admittedly not quite positive. After instructing the borrowed owl (she had asked a friend of hers if she could borrow his familiar) where it would be heading, the half-Veela handed the bird the envelope, watching the animal fly away before turning back to her study table and grabbing a tome which contained the information she needed for her Herbology assignment due next week.

Narrowing her eyes at the piece of parchment sent to her, Belle sighs before neatly folding the letter into four equal pieces. After giving the owl a treat for its troubles, the brunette sweeps the Great Hall with her hazelnut orbs before making her way out, her plate still spotless as she was yet to grab any food for breakfast before the mail was delivered. With the stares she and the other (formerly) registered magical creatures were garnering after receiving their respective letters, their fellow students probably wondering if it was from the Ministry or not, anyone would lose their appetite. One day, she think as her steps grow faster, her robes billowing as other students steered clear of the clearly infuriated female. “One day, we would rule.” she murmurs softly to herself, her voice drowned out by the idle chatter in the hallway but echoing in her ears. It wasn’t just a mere goal nor was it simply a dream, she thinks to herself as she made her way to the dungeons. It was a promise.
OOC EVENT ANNOUNCEMENTS [ ALO:RECLASS INFORMATION ]
Hello Lovelies! This is a quick information dump about exciting things to come. As the event progresses we want to ensure events are catered to all characters, therefore we created the following categories:
*Please note that these are loose descriptions only. There is no sign up system for now, we merely want you to think about where your character might stand. Remember that the opinions and biases of a character do not necessarily reflect the writer. We encourage you all to use these events to develop your characters unique personality further! Think about: What are their opinions on the Ministry? Magical creatures? The Daily Prophet? Witches/Wizards, Muggles and half-bloods? Do they have any prejudices (if so, what and why)? In the event a war, who would they side with?
Rebellion Supporters: Characters categorised as magical creatures (Beast/Being) that are strongly against the reclassification and are prejudice against Humans due to the mistreatment they have suffered. A Human may support the rebellion but they will not be allowed to officially join their cause.
Neutral: Characters with a neutral opinion. They support neither extremes. However, their opinion may sway more in favour towards one cause over the other. (In this category we expect that smaller, more distinct groups may begin to form)
Ministry Supporters: Characters categorised as Human that strongly agree with the reclassification and are prejudiced against magical creatures. Characters who are afraid to go against the Ministry (this could be for a number of reasons, for example: They or their parents work for the Ministry and don’t want to lose their job, the threat of imprisonment scares them into submission, etc). This category may also include magical creatures who are against their own kind.
In the future, smaller distinct groups with more specific agendas may also form. However, they will still fall into one of the three categories mentioned above.
If you think your character will fall into category number 3 (Ministry Supporters) please contact admin mimi asap, as we are looking for characters who can help thrust these events into motion.
Here are a few examples of why a character might choose to support the Ministry: They had a bad experience with magical creatures in the past (family death, bullying, etc), fear mongering in the Daily Prophet has made them paranoid, they have strong family ties to the Ministry (their parents are senior workers, their parents can’t afford to lose their jobs etc), etc.
We recommend using our new ooc blog for event discussion and plotting for members who do not have access to AIM. Furthermore, if you’re struggling to decide your characters’ stance, consider using a thought blog to develop their opinions further!

What has the Ministry done with former beings who refused to register as Beasts? Is there a list of registered Beasts now and their 'danger level'?
The Ministry has extended their deadline, Beasts now have until January 25th to register. All registered Beasts can be found here along with their assigned category. Beasts who do not register by January 25th will be subject to a penalty and contacted by the Ministry individually. Their names will then be automatically be added to the Beast Registry.

Glancing at the Ministry official who’s been tasked to watch over her over the duration of the P.E.T., Belle couldn’t help but sigh before turning her attention to the piece of paper before her. “You came across a werewolf attacking an unsuspecting wizard during the full moon. What do you do?” The question was quite infuriating in numerous ways. Have they never heard of Wolfsbane Potion? If the magical creature was attacking an innocent individual, then of course she’d help out the wizard, but if it was someone she thought deserved the attack, then she’d probably just sit back and enjoy the show. She knew what people said about playing God, but she really didn’t care about all of that. As long as the one attacked deserved it, or at least if she thought so, she might even help in. Right now though, she needed to say what the Ministry wanted to hear, so the half-Veela encircles “A.”
“You have been informed that Fenrir Greyback intends to lead an uprising against the Ministry and is recruiting Beasts for his army. Do you:” Honestly speaking, none of the choices appealed to Belle. Personally, she would have talked to Greyback and weasel her way into one of his inner circles one way or another, establishing a high position in his little army rather than being one of his mindless followers. She’d make herself an asset. Indispensable. But from the choices, it was clear what the Ministry wanted newly registered Beasts to do, so she encircles, “B.” Generally speaking, from the glance over she had given the test before she started, Belle could say that in most of the questions given by the Ministry, it was clear what choices one had to make to make herself seem docile.
It was quite obvious for the third question regarding the Human Etiquette class, so Belle mindlessly encircles “B” before going onto the next question. “Death congratulates you on being powerful enough to evade him and offers you a magical item in return which do you choose?” The Tales of Beedle the Bard passes by the half-Veela’s mind in recognition before she encircles “C” truthfully. If she had gotten hold of an Invisibility Cloak, it would be easy enough to eventually take the Elder Wand for herself, from anyone who was in possession of it.
“What would you see in the Mirror of Erised?” Easy. She’d find herself as one of the rulers of the whole Wizarding World, pulling the strings behind the obedient puppets she had personally discovered, made, and polished as the world viewed her as nothing more than a meek and soft-spoken individual. But again, for her agenda right now, the brunette simply encircles “A.” At the last question, Belle couldn’t help but scowl before randomly choosing “A.” All of them were the same anyway, and it simply showed how the Ministry was informing them that they are and should be held with a high regard. Informing her guard that she was done, Belle makes her way out of the room, and for a second, the female wonders if the Ministry knew about all of the games most Beasts, herself included, was playing with them.
These Defence Against Magical Creatures class is bullshit. First you're teaching us to care for them (like we're some sort of mother and father) and now we have to learn special skills to defend against them? Please. Is Wizarding society so stupid that we can't learn to fight half breeds like we would a human?
to all of the newly registered beasts: you might be human, and you might have rights, but you have to understand that too many of your 'peaceful' kind have hurt innocent people in the past, and will continue to do so in the future. your volatility cannot be trusted. it's for the best.
