Smiling shyly at the woman before her, her mask firmly in place, Belle couldn’t help but feel a silver of irritation and distaste at the other as she hurried to shake the reporter’s hand, bowing her head a few times in a show of meekness as she once again flashed the other a small smile before taking the offered seat. Anita Seeker was eyeing her with twinkling eyes, probably already rewording and rearranging the various questions she had in mind to give Belle a slightly more difficult time in answering, which the reporter knew in the end only benefit herself as it would most likely give Seeker further leeway to manipulate the Belle’s replies. The fact that she was obviously part Veela only made Anita Seeker’s eyes glitter more in anticipation at what the magical creature’s supposed reaction would be.
“So, Isobel, tell me—with all these new ideas that are coming afloat, how is it in the school, hm? A group of young children, the brightest and best of our country, all pushed into classrooms alongside ravenous Beasts. Does your heart thump with anticipation?” Clasping her hands in her lap, Belle dips her head slightly as she says in a soft voice, “Well, um, I’m actually half-Veela. And as a Beast myself-” Calling herself that label leaves a bitter aftertaste in the Ravenclaw’s mouth, but she continues, “I kind of feel happy and- and privileged.” she says the word in an awe-struck and obviously grateful manner as she makes eye contact with the reporter, her eyes brimming with what looked to be sincerity. “Even in my old school before, I was happy to be able to interact with other people who weren’t magical creatures such as I am. Everyone, regardless of affiliation, has a different perspective on things, and it was really interesting to hear some of them from the people I’ve met.”
“What thoughts do your young minds have on these Beast students? Fair and nice as they may be now, there have been plenty of incidents, both inside the school and outside, where they’ve proven they don’t always play nice. What dangers and thrills do you face in these hallways in the midst of these Beasts?” Biting her lip in a show of nervousness, the brunette’s hazel orbs flit at any part of the room aside from Anita Seeker’s position, her body language seeming to close in on itself. “Um, well, I’ve heard of... reports regarding attacks and stuff like that-” Initiated one more like it. “But I trust the Ministry to take proper action against those of my kin who do wrongly. In regards to within the school-” The half-Veela swallows nervously for show as she continues, “Well, us Beasts have weekly consultations with our Ministry supervisor, and personally, it has helped me out immensely. So the possibility of... of accidents are greatly minimized.”
“Do you feel endangered by the presence of luscious, but beastly, Veela students who have an unfair advantage over manipulating, particularly that of your male peers, emotions to their advantage? After all, our men aren’t responsible for what they do when these Veelas have a genetic advantage over a man’s… logic, would you not agree?” Willing a blush to her cheeks at the question, Belle ducks her head for a moment, her light brownish blonde hair curtaining her face as the cherry red tips of her ears gave away her embarrassment. Glancing at the reporter, the brunette says softly, “Well, um, as I said earlier, I’m half-Veela. Yet, despite this, I’ve actually met people who only took note of my... features initially before the automatic attraction to my person was gone after a notable amount of time.” Mentally, the brunette commends herself for putting on a great show, blush and all. “But going back to the weekly meetings with my assigned Ministry supervisor, we actually covered topics such as these and we were advised to avoid activities such as singing or dancing in public as everyone knows that such activities only... heighten our charms.”
“And more importantly, what my readers really want to know about is the heartthrob Mr. Henney. What is it like to be given hope by such a…magnificent man after these harrowing years that have fallen upon our beloved community? Did his honey voice sooth you? Does his commanding presence lead you into a new world—tell me, has your faith been renewed after being in the glorious presence of our illustrious Daniel Henney?” A shy smile blooms on her face at the mention of the man’s name as a light blush dusts her cheeks. “Truly, I feel like he’s taking the Ministry and ourselves in the right direction with all the decisions he has been calling as of late.” There’s a pause as Belle gives a small, shy giggle. Something she usually didn’t do and an act which she mentally cringed at. “And admittedly, Sir Daniel Henney is quite, um, attractive up close.” she says in a bashful tone.
Just as she says the last word, the Quick-Quotes Quill just behind Anita Seeker stops abruptly, an exaggerated motion of it leaving a dot on the lengthy piece of parchment being the indication that it was now done with its job. Short, mindless pleasantries are exchanged, more bashful comments are said and it was almost as if the shy blush on Belle’s cheeks are a constant. Before long, the interview was finally over and the half-Veela was just relieved that she can finally take off her blasted mask.
