My journey to NZ introduced me to a living wonder woman named Jean Batten (1909-1982). A legendary Kiwi girl who beat all the men. Rotorua-born world famous aviatrix. She made the first-ever solo flight from UK to NZ, 11 days 45 minutes, in 1936.
