anyway, I’ve added an entire subplot about Alex trying to get as much information about Alonzo Lance as possible, and also Lexi being missing
like this was not there in the original, any of the original this is totally new

alright, so I do think that Alonzo has to be involved in the escape of Jonathan. Lexi helped him escape. It was partially for the assignment, partially because she’s been doing some digging into him, at Alex’s request, and Alonzo is after her. Jonathan is there for her protection and also because it was the anniversary of Ally’s death.
and something about the spirit of Ally, and what she would have wanted becomes important
I don’t know if anyone is going to murder Alonzo here
but I do know that
oh
wait
I figured out a timing thing. The DNA will be a partial match, so it’s either Terry or more likely a male relative. So Cippie will assume what this means, and Alex and Lexi will push to know more about Terry’s mom to discover the existence of Alonzo Lance. She’ll agree to the plan set by Julie and Tristain, and not telling Alex of it. Until later. This is all much more concurrent than I realized.
there’s a scene here where Lexi just straight up killed Alonzo and damn, I don’t remember writing this but like past self this was such a good choice
OH shit, I’m scrolling through my whole index of random shit and man I wrote a few scenes from an AU where Lexi busts Jonathan out of prison to fucking murder Alonzo, and also because she thinks it’ll get Alex bonus points on the school assignment thing
and tbh, that is a way better explanation that what I’ve had in the past for a break out
but to make that work, I have to make these events happen on a different timeline
I think I have to move up the pregnancy stuff
because Lexi has to know about Alonzo, but Cippie can’t. Cippie has to still believe it’s Terry. Unless she doesn’t. Unless the fake pregnancy no longer has anything to do with Cippie’s revenge, and everything to do with Julie’s.
I must do some thinking before I get much further here
I have almost no material about Alonzo anywhere. But what I do know about him is that Lexi knows him, and that Lexi is afraid of him.
And I think that the whole Jonathan escape plan needs some reworking for this version of the story, even though it’s not particularly relevant, but it is happening at the same time.
So I wonder if perhaps Lexi’s disappearance should have more to do with Alonzo. I think I have to reveal him much earlier than he was revealed in other versions, because that’s the only non-shitty reason I have for them to get a DNA sample from Terry, and this whole thing kind of hinges on that.
I’ve been contemplating the idea of Lexi killing Alonzo, and framing Jonathan for it, when she has him broken out of jail for her ridiculous match making scheme.
I’ve realized that the fact that Alonzo was the one who assaulted Cippie has to come out around that time, because it means that Terry wouldn’t just be magically cleared of things then. Which means that he has to find out about Alonzo at that point. Alex doesn’t want to run the DNA Cippie has through the databases because that would bring suspicion on the whole thing. Which is why Cippie is faking the whole pregnancy in the first place. But since Tristan and Julie fucked that up, there has to be another way to clear Terry’s name of that. Because they used his DNA, and so it’s his baby. Which means they need clear confessions and the story of Cippie’s assault to become knowledge that the police have.
But Cippie still has unresolved things going on. Which means I need to look at my timeline.
And it would add a bit more depth to the Lexi breaks Jonathan out of jail and pretends to be kidnapped as a weird match making scheme to get Alex back together with Terry, even though there’s no real reason for her to need Terry’s help on this, and it ends up looking more like an attempt to make her presentation for Deccan’s class more dramatic. And let’s be real, of course Alex knew Lexi wasn’t really kidnapped right away, and tends to dismiss Jonathan as a treat, so it shouldn’t have been a big deal. But it was, so there needs to be a reason it was.
And I also need to look at my timeline to see when shit happened with Ligeia, because I forgot about that for too long.
I didn’t quite make it to 1k today. I wrote 784 words. It was a long day, with work all day, and my brain is all over the place. Still, it was better than nothing and hopefully I’ll have more time to write tomorrow.
Plus, I confirmed that Lexi knew Alonzo in high school/middle school, or at least met him once. So that’s interesting.
This adds another complication to the long and complicated explanation of factors that led up to the existence of Ace.
That’s what this whole story ends up being, really. How so many things come together to create Ace. All the little factors.
Which I guess now includes Alonzo Lance, although I suppose it did since I decided he was the one who attacked Cippie.
