I don't think the fandom has been this upset since Jensen went all homophobic and anti-Destiel at NJ Con. I also think that while the writers and execs have been rude to fans, some (NOT ALL) fans have been acting inappropriately both before (by sending hatemail to execs and the actress playing April, and threatening to boycott 9.03) and after this twitter situation. People on both sides appear to be in the wrong.
