A/N: Part 2 of my drabbles collection for Alpha Anders.
Howl like a wolf (Prologue)
Howl like a wolf masterlist
The ground bites into your bare feet as you run through the woods. Your shoes got lost on the way. Where—you don’t know.
You can’t stop now. Not when the huge alpha tries to bring down his prey.
Riling the newly arrived beast of a man up wasn’t your best idea. You underestimated his instinct and will to chase you.
His nostrils flare. The alpha caught your scent, and now he’s on a hunt. He grits his teeth and releases a deep, guttural growl.
His muscles strain against his clothes, ready to rip the fabric apart. Anders is a hunter, always was.
During his time with his father’s pack. During his time in the military. Now.
“I know you’re hiding from me, thief,” he curses under his breath. For the first time in his life, Anders tried to not give in to his passion for a good chase. He wanted to enjoy the peace the sleepy little town offered.
Now, you force him to follow your trail, and he will lose control all over again. Anders won’t stop until he sinks his teeth into his prey—you.
Anders lifts his head to inhale deeply. The alpha smirks and dips his head. His eyes glow in the dim light the sinking sun provides.
He knows the thief is hiding somewhere in these woods. The alpha also knows you’re not very good at hiding your traces. Maybe you don’t want to be good at hiding.
Behind a tree, you suddenly doubt your plan. The alpha chased you around town, and you had no other choice but to seek shelter in the woods.
It’s getting dark, your body is aching, and you fear the alpha won’t find it amusing that you stole his wallet.
Out of breath, you press your trembling body against the tree. You hope to hide from the tall alpha chasing you long enough to find a way out of the trouble you got yourself into.
The hairs on your arm stand up, hearing Anders’ voice so much closer. “I can smell you,” he purrs. “Why don’t you give up? I know you stole my wallet, little one.”
You whimper at the pet name, but press your back to the tree to hide behind it. The last thing you want to do is give up and wave the white flag.
“Come out, come out,” his voice is rough and deep, causing a shudder to run through your whole body. “If you give up now, the punishment won’t be so bad. Keep up the game, and I’ll take you down hard and unforgiving.”
You’re breathing harder, hearing the tall alpha sneak closer. For a man his size, he can move faster than expected.
Before you can scream, a pair of strong hands grab your upper arms to drag you away from the tree. Anders growls loudly, his teeth bared.
You can’t think or fight him. The alpha pushes you against the tree, holding you there as he considers his next step.
His eyes glow in the darkness, and you know you crossed a line.
Whatever happens now is your fault. You just don’t know if this is a good or a bad thing…
