“No, Maria. I will not try to fix things with him,” you rub your tired eyes with one hand while angrily barking into your phone. “I left your unfaithful and lying son of a bitch of a brother for a reason. He chose to claim some girl he just met.”
When you finally end the call to unlock your hotel suite you groan audibly. You close your eyes for a moment, sighing deeply as you push the door open.
“Home sweet home. How I love to live out of my suitcase,” you slam the door shut behind you, huffing while dropping your bag and jacket to the floor.
“Another great day to forget about the douche I wasted three years of my life on,” you walk toward the bed, ready to just sleep the last months off when something catches your eye. “What? How’d you get in here?”
You are fairly sure your hotel suite did not include dogs. Now there is a boxer-mix rolling on its back and whining for attention.
“Boy, you are a cute little bastard, huh?” you carefully approach the dog, not wanting to get bitten as you trusted the furry beast too soon. You gently run your hand over his belly, making him purr for you, “aw, you’re a good boy too.”
He looks up at you, whining low as he seems to miss his owner. “So, tell me,” running your hand over its head you look for any sign of an injury, “how’d you get in here? Where is your owner? Did you get missing, sweetie?”
The dog rolls back on his belly to nuzzle your hand with his snout. “We should try to find them, don’t we?” you ask and the dog jumps off the bed to sit next to you, nuzzling your left calf this time. “Whoa, no getting grabby before the third date, sir,” you chuckle as the dog moves to your right side to sniff at your other calf. “Let’s go back to the lobby and look for your owner.”
“No, you don’t understand,” you are slowly losing your patience. “The dog is not my dog. I came back to my room, and he was lying on my bed. His name is Dodger according to the name tag, but there is no information to contact the owner. Maybe you could ask around if someone is staying at the hotel with a dog.”
“We do not allow dogs in here,” the concierge sneers while looking at Dodger sitting next to you. “Get that beast out.”
“Sir, I’m trying my best not to lose my patience,” cocking your head, eyes narrowed you growl at the unfriendly guy. “Dodger is not my dog. I found him in my room, on my bed. I need your help to find his owner. Now stop wasting my time and ask around if anyone lost their dog.”
“Ma’am, one last time,” you snarl at the concierge as Dodger lifts his eyes. He whines, and gets up, harshly tugging at the scarf you loosely wrapped around his neck to not lose the poor guy at the hotel.
“Whoa, wait big boy. Why the hurry,” Dodger guides you away from the unhelpful concierge and toward a tall alpha who is hiding his eyes behind sunglasses and his hair under a base cap.
You shriek as the tall alpha makes his way toward you and Dodger. The man grits his teeth, and you fear he’ll attack you.
Luckily, the dog sits next to you to nuzzle your calf again.
“Hey, is that your dog, Sir?” you point at Dodger. “I found the poor guy at my hotel suite. I got no clue how he got in there. The concierge told me dogs are not allowed in here. You should be more careful.”
“Dodger,” the man crouches down to run his large hands over Dodger’s fur. “How did you get in here, boy? I was turning around, and you were just gone.”
“Phew, good, it’s your dog,” removing the scarf around Dodger’s neck you sigh, relieved. “I feared I need to run around Boston to find his owner.”
“Sorry, I didn’t introduce myself,” the man gets up to hastily grasp for your hand. “I’m Chris, and you just found my dog. Thank you for not chasing him away.”
“Aw, how could I?” you crouch down to ruffle Dodger’s fur. “Be more careful, sweetie. Not everyone is a good person in this world. Stay close to your owner from now on.” Dodger jumps at you and takes the chance to lick your face all over. “Hey, not kissing before the second date, sir.”
“Sorry, he’s a little eager when it comes to pretty ladies,” Chris awkwardly holds out his hand to help you back up. “How can I pay you back?”
“Oh, it was nothing,” you wave his concerns off. “I’m glad I was able to get him back to you safely. If you would excuse me now, I need to take a shower and make some phone calls. I hope you don’t get lost again, Dodger. If so, at least get lost in my room again.”
Chris chuckles as you pat his dog’s head one last time. “How about I invite you for dinner?”
“No,” you already turn around to leave Chris behind. “I don’t want anything. All I wanted was to bring you your dog back. Is all…”
Dodger whines as you make your way back toward the reception to yell a little at the unfriendly concierge from earlier. “Dodger, did you follow her?” Chris looks down at his dog, sighing deeply. “I told you to not look for an omega for me.”
The next day you sit at a café, sighing as you go through your house-hunting memos. You still didn't find a new home.
“Another week at the hotel then,” you thumb through the papers. “All of these—hey!” you squeal as you feel a tongue lick over your calf. “What?”
“Sorry, my dog just ran off, and then—oh, it’s you again,” you look up to face Chris once again. “I guess he likes you very much.” He gives you a soft smile. “Dodger doesn’t want to leave your side.”
Chris points at his dog sitting next to you. Dodger places his head in your lap, whining to get your attention. “Hey, sweet boy. Did you miss me, or do you want more cuddles?”
“He likes you,” Chris says again. “I swear we did not follow you. I wanted to go for a walk with my dog, and then he just ran toward your table. I called his name, though.”
“Don’t worry,” you offer the free seat at your table to Chris. “He didn’t bug me. I love dogs. I had one not so long ago too. I lost her, though.”
“Lost her?” the alpha cocks his head to search your face. He frowns as a single tear runs down your cheek. “What happened, sugar?”
“My alpha,” as you ruffle Dodger’s fur, smiling down at the dog you miss Chris’s features darkened at the mention of your alpha, “or rather my former alpha took my dog with him. Law was on his side.” You sniffle now. “He bought Freckles; this means she belongs to him. I tried anything to get her back, though…”
“Fuck, I’m so sorry,” Chris jumps up to place his large hand on your shoulder. “I shouldn’t have asked. Seeing Dodger must’ve opened old wounds.”
“Not so old wounds,” you give Chris a sad smile. “He left me for some other omega months ago. I left town and now I try to start anew in Boston.”
“Oh, that’s why you live at the hotel?” nodding silently you focus on Dodger again. “Do you want to rent or buy? A house or an apartment.”
“I don’t know yet,” you huff. “Maybe buying a house on my own is a bit odd, don’t you think?” He shrugs. “I don’t even have a dog.”
“If you want me to, I can lend you a hand. I helped my brother find a house too,” he offers now. “How about we meet up tomorrow again? This time we can make an appointment.” Chris grins now. “I can’t always let my dog run off to find you.”
“But that’s the best part of it, isn’t it?” both of you start to chuckle now. “Dodger seems to always know where to find me.”
“Shit, I don’t even know your name,” you grin up at Chris, giving him a wink. “What?”
“Well, Chris,” slowly running your hand over Dodger’s head you smile to yourself, “if you want to meet up with me again, you should find out my name first…”
“Y/N, Y/L/N,” Chris stands in front of your hotel suite, grinning as he points at Dodger sitting next to him. “It was my hard work, not Dodger’s this time.”
“You bribed the concierge, didn’t you?” he tries to not give away that he did just that. “Aw, Dodger. Your daddy is a bad man. He cheated.”
“I did not, ma’am,” the alpha cockily retorts. “You never clarified the rules, Y/N. I gave you my name without missing a beat.”
“Still, you didn’t show me your eyes, hair, or told me your surname,” you step out of your room to crouch down and ruffle Dodger’s soft fur. “Hey, pretty dog. How are you today, my good boy?”
“He’s good. Fed. Clean. And he already made a huge—” you giggle as Chris bites his tongue to not tell you about his dog’s poop. “You know what I mean.”
You turn to get your jacket and bag, not missing the alpha sniffs in your direction. Chris purrs low in his throat as his eyes land on your untouched neck. There is no claiming mark, and he feels his alpha get even stronger.
“Get a hold on yourself. We can’t just pounce on her. Don’t let your instinct get the best out of you, Chris. We need to get to know her better, not mark her neck in a hurry,” he croons as you finally leave the room, and he gets a whiff of your scent.
“Can we?” you look at Chris, wondering why he grits his teeth.
“No, that’s not for me,” you sigh, rubbing your hands over your thighs. The first house Chris wanted to show you is more like a mansion and not a house. “Too big; too expensive.”
“We could still have a look around,” he offers. “Only to see what you do not want, Y/N. Let’s highjack the open house.” You chuckle at his boyish grin. “We can pretend that we are freshly married and want to have a house full of kids.”
“I don’t know,” glancing at Dodger on your lap you wonder if you should be in a stranger’s car after knowing him for like two days. “Maybe this was a bad idea.”
“Omega, let us have a look around the house,” you shiver at his commanding tone. There is something in his steel-blue eyes when he looks at you in the passenger seat. “Come on. It won’t hurt to have a look around.”
How you ended up pressed against the wall of an empty house, Chris buried deep inside of your cunt and his hands all over your body will be forever a mystery to you.
One moment he unlocked the door to the house for sale to have a look around the empty house, and the next, you felt yourself grow wetter and Chris’s scent gets stronger.
“So tight for me,” he grunts with every deep thrust. Shit, you never did something like this before. You barely know the man rutting into you, still, you beg and whine for more. “I’m gonna make this cunt mine. You will be mine and a good baby mama for my dog.”
“Fuck, we forgot Dodger,” you rake your nails down his back, hoping to get Chris out of his instinct-driven state. “Chris, we need to look for your dog.”
“He’s sleeping in one of the rooms,” he moves a little faster, chasing his end to fill you up and knot you, just like his alpha demands. “I need you to cum for me, omega,” his face is buried in your neck, and his teeth are dangerously close to your claiming mark. “Fuck, I can feel your little cunt squeeze me. Come on, let go.”
“Y-you can’t knot me,” it’s a whimpered plea. “What if other people come here to have a look around the house?”
“It’s mine,” he wraps his arms tightly around your trembling body and all you can do is feel your pussy clench around his expanding shaft. “I bought the house a month ago. Just needed a sweet omega to share with.”
“OH GOD!” your body greedily opens up for his swelling knot while your mind is fighting to keep up with what is happening. “You tricked me?”
“I scented you a week ago, at the park. I lost your scent, omega,” he purrs against your neck as the tip of his knot presses against your cervix. “Dodger found you again, but I tried to stay away…he wouldn’t stop whining and I had to find you again.”
You’re panting, hands clawing at his back to ground your omega, to calm her and feel the alpha is safe.
“Why did you lie?” Chris gives you one last thrust, inhaling sharply as your scent gets even stronger. “Chris?”
“You’re mine and you told me about that alpha,” his teeth graze your mating gland again, and again until you purr for him. “I had to make you mine before he comes back.”
His teeth sink into your neck the moment his hot cum shoots into your womb. You struggle to breathe, feel or think at first and then, everything is crashing down on you.
The alpha fills your senses, your mind, and your soul. He gives you a piece of himself and takes a tiny piece of you in return.
“Alpha,” he croons against the mark he left, whimpering as you wrap your arms tighter around him.
“Omega,” Chris kisses your neck softly. “My omega, my mate…my true mate.”
“There is already a bed, and a dog bed,” you huff as Chris carries you out of the bathroom and into the bedroom. “Wait, are those my suitcases?” glancing at your luggage your realize Chris planned to make you his omega all along.
Honestly, you don’t know if you should get mad or tell your heart it can keep on fluttering.
“Uh—I kinda had hoped that you’ll … shit,” he carefully places you onto the queen-sized bed, “I wanted to ask you out and tell you that you are my true mate. All those suppressants confused your omega. I just…I lost control and had to mate you.”
“Lost control, Evans?” you growl. “You dragged me into the house and kissed me breathless! I didn’t get the chance to think straight with your scent, and musk and taste and those fucking muscles…”
“Sorry?” he gives you puppy dog eyes. “My dad warned me that meeting your true mate is intense and that alphas can lose control…” Chris covers your body with a blanket and runs his hand over your hair. “The mark, it’s a good one. I—did well…right?”
“I don’t know yet,” you’re still a little confused. It’s not that you don’t find Chris attractive, and the pull toward the alpha is so strong you can barely think straight, still, you barely know the man who just claimed you.
“Chris, what are you doing?” you bite your nails as your alpha of three months runs toward his car. He chuckles as you jump out of his car to watch him carry Freckles toward the car while Dodger, his partner in crimes, runs next to him. “Fuck, did you steal my dog?”
“You said you miss Freckles, now you got her,” opening the door to the backseat you sigh deeply. “Don’t worry, sugar. The bastard wasn’t at home. I wore gloves and opened the gate. He’ll think the dog ran or something. We should drive back home now.”
“You’re crazy,” you laugh as Chris grins wolfishly. “You just dog-napped Freckles.”
“Hey, it’s not dognapping if the dog wants to come with you. Dodger impressed your girl,” Dodger jumps onto the backseat, expectantly looking at Chris. “Yeah, I got it. You got me a girl, now I got you one too…”
“Aw, look at them,” Chris and you watch Dodger purr and croon for your dog. Freckles barely lifts her head. She plays hard to get but glances at the boxer-mix whenever he runs away to get a new toy for your dog. “They are going to have cute pups.”
“She won’t have pups so soon,” you tut but smile softly when Dodger lies next to your dog. “What if my ex comes here to get her?”
“She’s Dodger’s mate now,” Chris brings you onto his lap and helps you get comfortable. “I will fight him with all I’ve got to keep her here. She was outside in the cold while it was raining. He’s an awful alpha and an even worse dog owner. He can eat shit…”
You relax in your alpha’s embrace, giving in to your instinct and letting your omega relax. It’s not that you didn’t give him hell after he claimed you months ago.
“You know, you still owe me a first date. I hope you don’t think I’ll let you get away with it…”
