Omega Gambit brainworms; maybe like a year or two before they get together, like right after one of them joins the team, Rogue & Gambit are kind of indifferent to each other (or so they tell themselves) until Remy's heat comes around. He's the horniest bastard ever and while it isn't uncontrollable it greatly hinders him, so he's got a sort of no strings attached deal with a few of the other mutants (Logan). Rogue knows this and is quietly seething cus she can't have sex like a normal person due to her mutation, and totally not because she wants a piece of Remy, not at all. Maybe Remy's heat catches him off guard, or him & Logan get a bit carried away, but regardless it ends with Rogue walking in and seeing Remy bent over the couch in the TV room getting knotted. And what a fucking sight it is, it haunts her for weeks in the best possible way. Gambit can barely bring himself to look at her and that makes missions together a real trick, u til Rogue comes to him & confesses if she could, she'd have a piece of him too, so he has nothing to be embarrassed of. Now Gambit can't really get off with any ody else, now with thoughts of Rogue's smile and curt flirtation drifting into his mind (they will dance around each other for the next two years and he will perish immediately after she tells him she returns his feelings. Seethe)
My mind created a vivid image of Logan knotting Gambit and it was glorious. And the idea of Rogue being so worked up because she can't do the same to Gambit is so good. Like she will do anything to be in Logan's position and have Remy on his hands and knees.
