Summary: you don't meet Alpha and she assumes the worse
Every night at sunset. Here. Right here. You were supposed to be HERE. This rock, has been your meeting place for nearly a year. You’ve never missed a single meeting. Alpha paces like a caged wolf, eyes scanning the woods for any sign of you. She waits until the sun sets, the moon replacing her brother in the sky, her face full as she lends her light to the woods. She stands, motionless, worry gripping her heart as she searches the trees for you. You still do not come. You are not coming. You have betrayed her. And no one betrays Alpha.
“Get up! Pack meeting. NOW” Alpha’s voice is sharp and cruel as she rouses the sleeping pack members. Some groan, taking their time to rise from their pallets and their tents, while others, the morning scouts and dawn hunters, rise swiftly. Beta gives Alpha a questioning look, but she doesnt respond to the question in his eyes. Instead, Alpha climbs to the highest point on the rock she has come to address the pack from, and, with eyes of steel and a voice like ice, she begins to speak.
“If anyone sees (Y/N) She is to be brought to me. Dead or Alive. She has betrayed me. I fear that she will give her leaders our location. She must be punished. The one who brings me the traitor dead will receive a great reward, but the one who brings it to me, Alive, will receive and even greater one.” Alpha looks around at her pack, ferocity in her eyes. “Bring it to me by sundown, and you will have no duties for a week.”
Your eyes open, as you weakly raise your head, trying to shake the ringing from your ear drums. You look around you, blinking in the blinding light. Wait. No. No. Blinding light? You were supposed to meet Lisa. No. She must be so worried! You try to push yourself to your feet, but you find that you can’t. Upon closer inspection, you realize that your right leg is bent at an odd angle, and there is a certain red stickiness pooling beneath you. You wince, trying not to allow yourself to cry out, not wanting whatever stray walkers are about to hear you, when you are weak and defenseless. You wonder if your group, Michonne or Carol, or Tara, are out searching for you, but you doubt it. You arent someone they would quickly notice to be missing. You are a gardener, and it isn’t the growing season right now, so you’ve been assigned to knit blankets for the expected newborns, but you generally look after yourself. Which is just as well, because it gives you time and a way to go and meet Lisa each evening. Lisa. Alpha. Oh no. Has she asked the pack to search for you? She must have. You know she worried, when you didn’t show up. They’re probably combing the woods right now.
With all the rain lately, the trail was especially steep, and muddy. You had lost your footing, and crashed down a small hill into this ravine a little before sunset. If you weren't injured, you’d be able to climb out on your own. But with your leg the way it is, and the bleeding in your side, you can’t even stand up, let alone climb rocks to get out of this mess.
You sigh in relief as you see Sky, a new member of Alpha’s pack, walking towards you. You reach out a hand, your eyes conveying the relief you feel. “Sky, oh thank goodness. Please, help me? I..I fell from the path, I..think my leg is broken.”
“Save it traitor.” You yelp in confusion as she pulls you roughly to your feet, her metal bat, her weapon of choice, colliding with your broken leg. “I don’t give a shit. Alpha wants you. Dead or alive. So let’s go. Walk or I’ll kill you, and bring you in that way.” You whimper, not understanding what’s going on. Traitor? No. What does she mean Traitor? Sky knows you. The whole pack knows you. Youre Alpha’s mate, the pack’s second queen almost. Youre not a traitor.
“I SAID MOVE!” The bat collides with your leg again, and you can barely breathe. The last thing you hear is Sky’s stream of curses before you sink to the forest floor.
“Where did you find her?” Lisa is using her ‘leader voice’. She sounds angry, and you shudder, Sky’s words ringing in your head. She’s going to kill you. You don’t want to die. Not now. Not by her hand. You didn’t betray her. You didn’t. What did you do wrong?
“In the south ravine. Bitch says she fell off the path. Wasn’t lying about the broken leg though. Couldn’t walk on it. Even with a bit of incentive. Dragged it here after it fell. Wanted to gain your favor.” You look up from your spot on the ground, realizing your hands and legs are tied together, which explains the blinding pain. “I beat her up a bit for you. Deserves it for betraying-”
The sound of the slap makes you wince, and you involuntarily cry out in fear, causing Alpha’s attention to be averted to you. You tremble as your eyes meet hers, and you quickly drop your gaze, afraid to show fear, knowing she doesn’t allow anyone to look her in the eyes. You used to be different, but you don’t think that’s how it is now.
“(Y/N).” Alpha kneels down beside you, pulling her knife from it’s sheath, and you shy away, trying, in whatever way possible, to preserve and prolong whatever life you have left. “Hold still damn it.” She hisses, her teeth clenched, jaw set in a hard line. You shake your head, pressing your chin to your chest, trembling from fear, and from the pain. “Oh. (Y/N)” Alpha, Lisa whispers, her voice soft as she places a hand on your cheek. “I’m not gonna hurt you. I’m trying to cut the ropes. Let me help you. Please.”
Not too long later, you are in Alpha’s tent, resting on a mess of blankets, her lap your pillow. She’s stroking your hair, humming softly to you as she coaxes you to drink a bit of peppermint tea, to help lessen the pain. Your leg has been set, and your side fixed up.
“I never-” You start, a smile playing on your lips as she silences you with a kiss.
“I know.” She whispers, every bit Lisa now, all evidence of the angry woman gone. She’s holding you, and taking care of you, and you are happier than you’ve been in a while. “I thought youd betrayed me when you didnt show. I...dont do worry very well. I dont do emotion. Not around them.”
“I forgive you” You whisper. “I..I love you Lisa. I tried . I wanted to meet you, but I…” You smile as she kisses you again, effectively silencing you once again.
“So everytime I talk, i get a kiss?” You tease, laughing weakly as she places her lips to yours again.”
“Shut up” She laughs, holding you close in her arms. You know that now, everything will be alright. Lisa loves you, and that will never change.
