In my headcanons, monsters' children are born as a result of a special magical ritual when the souls of the future parents enter a resonance. Their magic, will, and essence intertwine, creating a spark of new life ❤
Since Mettaton in our case is a ghost in a robot body, his children with Alphys will be half-lizard, half-ghost. The eldest daughter is named Alma, and the younger son is Haps. I'll talk about the children in more detail another time.
