so for Christmas I asked for a quilt rack to hold my rugs after failing to find one while antiquing -- the ones they had were small and wobbly and I don't know how they'd even hold one quilt, much less my rugs, which are kind of heavy

and my dad says hey I'm retiring and I want to get more into woodworking so I'll make you one and bring it next time we visit

well, here it is, solid cherry and it's gorgeous -- as you can see it'll definitely hold up under two to three times the volume of rugs

it folds completely flat and he figured out how to make it so it doesn't need side braces to keep it open at the right angle

it takes up like half the floor space in that room but I'm in love
